WTB: Mario & Sonic GB Pirate Games
« on: January 23, 2013, 05:32:55 AM »
Hi, everyone! I'm new to the forums. I remember seeing pirate carts at my local flea market years and years ago, but I overlooked them knowing they were fakes. I was recently reminded of them by a member at TheCoverProject.net, where I help make video game covers.

I'm looking for any of these Game Boy games:

-Super Mario 4
-Super Mario 7
-Super Mario Special 3
-Sonic 6
-Sonic 3D Blast 5
-Sonic Adventure 7/8

I'm not having much luck on eBay or anywhere else, so I'm hoping you guys can help me track down these oddities. I don't care about packaging or if they are part of multicarts. I'm just looking to find them at all.

Also, if anyone has any box scans for any of these, I'd love to make some custom covers for my collection. Thanks!

Well this Multicart might have Super Mario 4 Judging by the Packaging. Also the screenshots it shows of the selection menu show that this cart may have Sonic 5,6,7,8. So I'm just warning you with multi arts it can be decieving, it can either be all of them or just one of them repeated a lot. Cool box art though. http://goods.ruten.com.tw/item/show?21211027483001
Edit: It does show sonic 6 box art on the cover and it mentions super Mario 4 in the selection screen so it looks like this cart has at least 3 if not more of the games you asked about. :) Still not sure about sonic 7 and 8 though ;)

There's stuff by Sintax, but those are harder to find.  Sintax made a Sonic game (it's called Super Sonik II or something) and Donkey Kong 5: The Journey of Over Time and Space which is a take on Super Mario Bros. DX.

That's way too pricey. They're dumped, if you want to try them out.

Well thanks to fcgamer and Qiezei, it looks like I've got Mario 4, Mario 8, Sonic 5, Sonic 6 and Sonic 7 on the way! Thanks to everyone!

Now I'm just on the hunt for Super Mario Special 3, Sonic 8 and Donkey Kong 5: The Journey of Over Time and Space...

I thought I might share with you guys some covers I made for my game collection for these games. Over at The CoverProject.net, we discovered recently that the space above the card slot on Nintendo's 3DS cases were perfect for holding GB, GBC and GBA games. With two strips of foam (or something else), you can easily store them in protective cases without them sliding around, and manuals fit perfectly!

So I went ahead and made some unique covers for Mario 4 and Sonic 5-8. You guys' BootlegWiki was a big help there. I mostly created totally custom covers, although I did reference the original boxes for Mario 4 and Sonic 6.

You can download them here if you're interested in using them: https://www.box.com/s/v7fq99l3f68e8mrlv6tw

That's okay. I live in California and I buy from there from time to time. Just use this site taiwan shopaholic.
http://www.taiwan-shopaholic.com.sg/?page_id=45 Then download and send in an order form giving them the auction web address and the price of the game. Since the auction says one NTD which isn't the real price, as Qiezei said in the Interesting stuff for sale elsewhere thread you can ask them to find out the real price of the game. And don't worry Taiwan Shopaholic is safe as many people on here have used it. And if you have more questions I'll try to help. And I'm sure other people who have used Taiwan shopaholic will also be able to help. :)

Super Mario Special 3: In around 2004, there was a whole load of them for sale. Not very common anymore sadly. :(
Sonic 8: I think it's just Sonic 5 with a different intro track, different title and levels re-ordered. Then again, most Makon games are. :P
Donkey Kong 5: The Journey of Over Time and Space: That one's not too common, but there are a few out there. If you mean the 'Donkey Kong 5' ROM dump that's not working, that's another Makon Soft game. I've never seen any true gameplay or seen it for sale, just the title. :'(

I guess I dropped of the face of the earth here. My bad. Been distracted making covers over at The Cover Project.

I'm currently looking for these games if anyone knows where I can get them, or has them for sale:

-Super Mario 3 Special (rumble cart) - Sintax
-(Super) Mario DX (GBA) - Sintax
-Donkey Kong 5 Journey of Over Time and Space - Sintax
-Donkey Kong 2 (or II) - Sintax
-Super Sonik II
-Sonic Adventure 8 - Yong Yong
-Sonic (GBA) [I assume it's similar to the Famicom bootlegs]
-Sonic 3 Fighter Sonic (GBA) - Sintax
-Somari (GBA) [does this one actually exist?]

I've got Mario Land 4, Mario 7, Sonic 3D Blast 5, Sonic 6, and Sonic Adventur 7. Are there any more Mario, Donkey Kong or Sonic pirate games I'm not aware of?

-Somari (GBA) [does this one actually exist?][/quote]I know they made GBA bootlegs of the Sonic 3D Blast 5 variation. Not entirely sure on Somari itself though. I'm willing to bet that if there is, it'd probably be under a different name.
