Panda Adventure - hidden track mysteries
« on: September 05, 2015, 05:48:24 AM »
Hummer Team picked some weird sources for the music in Panda Adventure.
We should try to recognize them all.
OK. Let's start with the info - we have discovered 4 tracks already.
Here they are:
20 - Titenic boss battle
25 - D.I.S.C.O by Ottawan (resemblance only)
27 - Ultima 7 Dead Bodies
2E - Aqualung by Jethro Tull

I recognized another track from the bunch:
2D - It's supposed to be from Uz, but I checked my shovelware CD with Uz on it, and it isn't from Uz.
Spoiler: click to toggle

It isn't an exact cover of it, but it resembles it somewhat - noticeably the ending is different.
It seems that rest of the tracks is original, but I can be mistaken.

So we have 5 tracks:
20 - Titenic boss battle
25 - D.I.S.C.O by Ottawan (resemblance only)
27 - Ultima 7 Dead Bodies
2D - The Games Factory MELRIPP1 (resemblance only)
2E - Aqualung by Jethro Tull

Send any ideas, I will include them in the list.

Apparently the Uz tune was only in the registered version-- I discovered it via Famicompo Mini 10, where one of the tunes was a cover thereof. The MIDI from Uz can be found floating around the net under the name "UZ3-PIPS.mid".

Given that The Games Factory was released prior to Uz, though... I'd say you're correct about the former being the real origin of the tune.

(Wow, we're really going down the stolen music rabbit hole here, aren't we?)

But how they got the MIDI? If I'm not mistaken, TGF was released in UK, US, France, Japan and in a computer magazine in Poland, there wasn't any Hong Kong/Taiwan/China release of it.

well either they had an import or a pirate copy i assume (probably the latter) .. lots of stuff didn't get an official release in that region, it doesn't mean people weren't able to get hold of it.

is it possible that Hummer made some PC games with The Games Factory?
