2000-present / Re: 36pcase analysis - VT369 with serial flash

iNES header, Flash ROM, internal mask ROM, serial ROM. Set the NES 2.0 "# of Misc. ROMs" to 2. The internal mask ROM contains code for the sound CPU; if it is not used, there is no reason to include it. Only NintendulatorNRS (website unlicensed.games->Lost in Bygone Gamingsupports mapper 426, in case you want a modification target. EEPROM content is not included in the .NES file but is treated like a battery-backed .SAV file.

Also, what is the exact name of the product? The AliExpress link does not work for me.

This is the first time you mentioned an EEPROM :)

Mapper 426 already emulates a serial ROM that responds to command 0x30. Used by:
  • Cheertone Gaming Tech CT-885 (one version, serial ROM dumped)
  • CULAGEiMi Handheld Game for Kids&Adults Built-in 270 Retro Video Games (serial ROM not dumped)
  • Red5 Mini Arcade Machine 240-in-1 (72842) (serial ROM dumped)
I have attached the two ones with the dumped serial ROMs for your convenience. CT-885 also has CPU opcode encryption.

Famicom/NES / Re: How to get dumped roms into a useful format?

It reads stuff from some kind of serial ROM into RAM at E00 and executes it.

Not the Spanish version, only an English version.

It's on my To-Do list, but I will not get to it this year.

I wanted to ask a question that has been bothering me for a long time. Are there normal (non-pirated) conversions of "Super Game" games on MMC3 that have copy protection removed or disabled? How many such conversions are available?
Leaked betas, though those count as "pirated" as well. Distributing normal non-protected versions would defeat the purpose of having copy protection.

Here are the patched files.

Why do both patches have the same CRC32 despite having vastly different sizes?

Contrary to what you write, the patching utility demands the original Panda Prince ROM file, not my MMC3 conversion, as you said, with a NES 1.0 header. I don't like the .BPS format at all because it does not verify the file body separately from the header, and because the "Beat" client has a very awkward user interface in Windows.

Here are some proper extracts. I also made a version of Saint Seiya for regular consoles, without expansion audio obviously. The other two games already exist in regular console form and so need no such conversion.

The ROM is correctly dumped; all games run in compatible emulators with no visible glitches. Thank you very much. :) To answer your questions:
  • FCEUX has very little support for bootleg mappers. Use Libretro-FCEUMM for Retroarch on many platforms or NintendulatorNRS for Windows for complete mapper support.
  • I assume it writes mapper number 33 instead of 289. That is likely because Sanni's software does not write a proper NES 2.0 header, so it writes mapper number 289 but fails to set the NES 2.0 flag, resulting in mapper number 289-256=33.
  • To check whether a cartridge has been correctly dumped, repeat the dumping procedure several times, removing and reattaching the cartridge to the dumper between each attempt, and ensure that the hash value of the dumped data remains constant between attempts. And if the cartridge uses a known mapper, ensure that all games run in emulators without visible glitches.

That's mapper 289. The current version of the Sanni Cart reader supports it. Going by mapper 289's capabilities, size should be 2048 KiB PRG-ROM and 0 KiB CHR-ROM.

Dump as NROM please and post it, so one can analyze the dump to determine the mapper. Glob-top PCB pictures alone won't tell us much, unfortunately.

Excellent! Thank you. I have updated my emulator build to support expansion audio using the correct, attached dump. I have also attached a video file for demonstration purposes.

You cannot upload any attachments here? You have uploaded several attachments to your posts in this thread already. These attachments were far larger than any NES .ROM file. Something is not right here.
