Youtube's new design
« on: December 01, 2011, 09:57:11 PM »
:angry2:
Okay, what the YONG YONG is this? Youtube tried to reinvent the wheel again but ended up created a completely dull and cluttered mess (again!)! While they did improve a few things, like the analytics screen, everything else is worse. They added a fuzzy grey background that just looks like what happens when you turn on a TV that isn't tuned, They cluttered up the channel design (even worse than it already was) and a lot more crap that didn't need to happen.

My point is that once everyone had gotten used to the beta homepage and channel design, BLAM! Point blank blast in the face with the YONG YONG cannon.

Well done, Youtube (sarcasm)

I'm not bothered about it actually. I know people have been complaining about the homepage but I don't know what they're saying as I never go there. I have the inbox bookmarked instead :P

I love how Youtube changes things that don't need to be changed like their design, yet they don't bother to fix what actually needs fixing, such as the comments section (it still looks really sloppy and ugly) and the ratings system (LETS NOT OFFEND ANYONE GAIS).

anyone tried the new channels? i've enabled it for my own @ http://youtube.com/neofujivideo/ - personally I like the new ones from an interface perspective but I think the old ones looked better (and were more customisable). But you'd think Google with all its money could get both right.

Nah, I'm sticking with the old channel design. The new one looks a cluttered mess really :\

The whole website just looks messy and cluttered to me, now.. The thing is, it's hard to call this an update.. More of a random, unneeded change. Facebook does the same B.S. as well, no idea why really.

As for the Youtube update, I don't care about it myself. All they did was change the interface a bit.

It's not all bad, but like I said it's the least of their problems.  And yeah, the new channel design looks rather sloppy to me as well.  Keep up the good work, Youtube.
