AVGN Kid Kool Revew

i've legit never seen one of this guy's videos before. now i'm not sure why i bothered lol.

and i like kid kool! it has this quirky sort of character that a lot of vic tokai games have. although it's totally the game savestates were invented for.

Meh, I've played Kid Kool before and I thought it was basically Psycho Fox except nowhere near as good. I sometimes disagree with the AVGN (M.C. Kids and Top Gun being examples), but this is not one of those cases. Also, call me a cretin if you want but I find those videos to be entertaining.

ha. nah i won't call you a cretin, it's just my preference - those RAWR I'M SO ANGRY ALSO FUCK AND SHIT AND BALLS type reviewers aren't my thing. although i will say he does it better than most of the 12 year olds i've seen attempt that kind of review on youtube lol.

i prefer the likes of Ashens though, his reviews are mostly negative too but he's also not afraid to say when he thinks something is actually good. so when he slags something off you know it comes from the heart, he's not just doing it because he feels obliged to or something. also this is nothing to do with the topic but i just noticed every thread in this movie forum was posted by supersonicdude91 and not one of them is about a movie. (unless you have a *very* loose definition of "movie")

[/quote]I prefer both sorts, but I'd agree with you on that one. With my reviews, I tend to be like a poor man's version of Ashens (hence why I labelled some of them Yet Another Ashens Ripoff). Similar to those videos, I just stick a camera in front of my TV while giving a vague description of the game in question, having likely shown that game about 47 times before (like that Street Fighter ripoff that Ashens reviews). TBH, the main reason I even bother with those videos is because I have too much free time nobody else does. But enough shameful self-promotion, I'd just like to say that as long as the reviewer can pull off their style well, then some people are bound to enjoy it.

Seems pointless, last thing I go to a pirate community for is a special subforum to discuss movies =p I think most of these subforums are kind of pointless, since out main discussion is only pirate oriented.

What happened was when I was creating this forum, I wanted to throw a few extra forums in for discussion of other things without copying RX Community (like other forums do) and Indy (he was involved in the forum's birth although he only just made a few posts and left really so I took away his admin position) suggested a forum based around movies. If anyone has any ideas on how to make the discussion part of the forum better (like ideas and what not), throw it in the Community forum because this is starting to get offtopic.

I saw a AVGN review of Master Chu one time, but I didn't care much for it.  And I'm not saying that because I'm a Sachen fan.  :unsure:

Anyways, I don't care much for Kid Kool, as it's not that good.  I do like Vic Tokai's other stuff like Krion Conquest, Clash at Demonhead, and Socket, but this one was really annoying to play.  Decap Attack was way better honestly.

Yeah, I found out about it at Sega-16, I believe.  I've been meaning to pick that game up (or at least the Japanese version, Time Dominator 1st).  I really liked the audio/visuals in that game, though I thought the boss fights were pretty disappointing.  Of all of Vic Tokai's games, Krion Conquest is my top (personal) favorite.

I was going to pick up a copy of Kid Kool one day the next time I go to the flea market. After watching this, I'm going to have second thoughts before buying this.

I enjoy his reviews a lot, because they are funny. As for his opinions on some of the games...I agree at times, but I do disagree. For instance, A Nightmare On Elm Street, is actually a decent game.
