Help with downloading a hack pack

youre welcome! :D

ive sorted this archive out a bit, weeded out duplicates (there were loads) and sorted things into a few different folders (mostly by filename though, so it might not be 100% accurate). and also 7zipped it so its only 50mb instead of 150. that version will be up in a few minutes.

there really doesnt seem to be much new in there though, aside from chinese fan translations.
heres the sorted version: http://ifile.it/72uf0y4

The only noteworthy thing I noticed there was the first Henggedianzi game, which is a strategy game which uses the sound engine from Dragon Co's games.

Were there any duplicates among the Contra hacks you may have seen?

The only ones I remember seeing were Contra '93, Super Contra 2, Contra Fighter and Super Contra 7. I doubt there's any new Contra hacks in there.

BTW, has anyone else noticed that the character roster in Contra Fighter is exactly the same as in Hummer's Street Fighter II? O_o

Well they're all in Chinese, so I don't think that'd help much. (Well, not for me at least) What folder are they in?

I don't know which folder (in Taizou's reupload I mean). When I tried extracting his rar, winrar gave full of errors so I stuck with the original archive (sorry Taizou :P but rest assured that your efforts are not in vein).

I did a folder search for these: 魂斗羅 which is Contra. That yields like 19 of the 37 Contra ROMs there. (I did another search for 3 other obscure characters I forgot about).

Do note that you'll be disappointed to know Air Contra is a simple graphics hack of Final Mission and Star Contra is a simple graphics hack of Journey to Silius.

Do you mind sending me the ROMs of those? I accidentally deleted the folder that those hacks came in and Taizou's upload seems to have been broken for some crazy reason.

Edit: Nevermind, I've got it working now. :)

Edit 2: Still can't find the ROMs though. What emulator did you run them on?

I just ran them on NESTopia. It should (most) all work. Some use a weird mapper, but a friend of mine knew a work-around for that :)

I tried this method with Contra Fighter (from CaH4e3's dumps), and I noted that the game uses Mapper 238.
