Heh, I wasn't even aware of Korean versions of Menace Beach and Crystal Mines, apparently Miss Peach World 1 wasn't enough. Well at least we now know of a connection between Color Dreams and Daou Infosys.

Also, Beat n Box's bad rendition of Take on Me has inspired me to do a better version on FamiTracker. :D

Oh, and apparently Naver Cafe's video service sucks more than Youtube's as it constantly tells me to refresh the page.

Hm, sounds like Beat N Box uses the Tiny Toon Adventures sound engine. Not surprising-- Daou/Open really liked to use that one, so there's probably a connection there...

I'd always wondered about that DDR cartridge. Yep, same sound driver and tunes as GLK Dance. I really shouldn't be surprised.

Oh, that's interesting. The music in The General's Son has a noticeably... Sachen-esque quality to it, for lack of a better description. Very much unlike Buzz & Waldog or Metal Force... despite the fact that this one's from Daou as well...

well I can't get those videos to play at all - i do have a famiclone based dance mat somewhere with a crap version of Take On Me on it though, they seemed to be quite common in the UK at one point but i can't find a video on youtube. wonder if it's the same version?

According to this The General's Son was developed in-house by Daou, but everything after 93 was outsourced to Open, that'd probably explain the difference.

To me, it seems a bit primitive when compared with Sachen's 1992 releases. What I find slightly odd is that there was originally planned to be a US release called Street Hero, and of course Sachen made Street Heroes about 2 years later. I assume the game was made in-house though, although Dooly Bravo Land looks somewhat better in terms of quality.

What I personally don't get is why the Master System version of The General's Son seems to be completely different to the Famicom version when they're by the same company. (Then again, the NES version of Ninja Gaiden is completely different to the other versions)
