found an auction listing with some screenshots of the motion console's mini games:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320692421391
they look like Nice Code games, I think they might be VT03 versions.
Yep! Typical Nice Code software.
Now I'm wondering whether the Nanjing sports games were actually developed by Nice Code-- especially since the two companies did have a known relationship at one point.

I'm sure I came to some conclusion about why they probably weren't, but I can't remember what that was. :D
ooh i just noticed - the sports games on the DreamGear are the VT03 versions too, not the VT168 versions seen on the Wow/Vii/etc. so maybe the sound engine might be a giveaway.

Almost all of dreamgear's products appear on Trump Grand's alibaba website. This raises a question: Could DreamGear be just another alias of Nice Code/Trump Grand?

nah, DreamGear is just a US-based distributor as far as I know - most of their recent consoles are made by Trump Grand but a lot of their older products were Jungletac's, and there are a few others scattered in there (one by Macro Winners and one by Qi Sheng Long that I know of)

I realized "Abscondee" has a strange glitch in which you can receive 5 lives at once for no apparent reason. I'm playing these games too much...

i'm trying to figure out which actual DreamGear console this was dumped from, but the problem is DreamGear has a whole bunch of 75 in 1 systems and none of them seem to correspond to the rom.

the "Plug & Play" 75 in 1 seemed likely at first but heres the packaging:
front http://www.promo-wholesale.com/Upfiles/Prod_o/Dreamgear-Plug-N-Play-Controller-With-75-Games_20090711637.jpg
back http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q128/computerwarehouse/DSC06598.jpg?t=1256322925
and most of the games shown in those screenshots arent actually on the dumped one. so that's ruled out.

then there's the "My Arcade" 75 in 1:
http://www.dreamgear.net/shop-by-platform/plug-n-play/my-arcade-75-and-1.html
again with screenshots of games that arent on it. so thats out too.

i'm not sure about the "Gamestation 2"
http://www.dreamgear.net/shop-by-platform/plug-n-play/my-arcade-game-station-with-75-games.html
but it comes with a lightgun, and there are no lightgun games in the dumped system, so it seems unlikely.

and i'm out of ideas. anyone else?

Well, I don't know if it can be of any help, but the first and only time I saw a DreamGear system (the typical joystick with no cartridge slot) in a nearby store, the packaging said something like "52 games plus 118 more!". So maybe this ROM was taken from a system that had some kind of switch or something that made possible changing between different sets of games?

Yeah, it could have been. i'd think cah4e3 would have dumped both sets of games if that was the case though.

actually I just noticed the Plug & Play 75 in 1, 86 in 1 and 101 in 1 all have the same screenshots on their packaging, so I guess DreamGear might have just been lazy and reused the same set of screens regardless of whether those games are actually on the console in question.

Reminds me of this Excalibur 64-in-1 which mostly has NC originals, along with several Rad Racer hacks, Spar and an unhacked Route-16 Turbo.

One of the screens on the 75/86/101 reused screenshot fest looks like Route 16 Turbo as well. I have an Excalibur 101 thats a similar deal - 99 originals, one F1 Race hack and one Star Force hack.

incidentally the Excalibur that guy reviewed looks exactly the same as the 30 in 1 16-bit thing I got from China recently. hmm!

This video of the console (if I recall, this is the guy whose console was dumped by cah4e3, but I may be mistaken) shows it clearly as being a variant of the My Arcade. The box is entirely different, but the controller itself is identical.

Edit: ::facepalm:: Actually, that's the exact unit shown in the first link Taizou provided. (My brain is clearly somewhere else today.) But yeah, the My Arcade is probably just a repackage of it-- the unit itself looks identical.

ah yeah, I should have checked that video - it looks like he just used a promo shot rather than a photo of his actual console, but I'm still leaning towards that being the one and DreamGear using the wrong screenshots. I've come across a game list for the 101 in 1 and a bunch of the games shown (the Track & Field hack/clones notably) aren't on that either.

I just noticed something; on those Track & Field games, some of the graphics are taken straight out of Gold Medal Challenge '92.
