Game Boy / Re: A Bunch of Li Cheng games ID'ed
« on: March 04, 2020, 10:36:10 PM »
The following games do not have pictures (I'll omit the CBA part of the ID to save space and time) 054, 088, 092-094, 096, 101, 104, 109, 110, 116-120, 124-127, 129, 140, 143, 151, 162-163, 165-166, 168-170, 173. The seller gives a name for CBA101, but the rest of the ones without pictures have no names given. If I find pictures of these, I'll post them here
I hope this helps anyone who is curious as to what these games are

Game Boy / A Bunch of Li Cheng games ID'ed
« on: March 02, 2020, 06:01:40 PM »
I recently found a Taobao listing that had a ton of unidentified Li Cheng games (almost all of them with IDs between CBA001 to CBA174), with screenshots of what the games are. Some of the games they show off are pretty neat. One that made me especially intrigued was "Rockman DX8" which according to the Pirated Games Museum page is supposed to be Sintax's Zook Hero 3. It isn't. It is Zook Hero Z (the first one). The picture of Zook Z shows English text. They also appear to have a Pokemon game with edited sprites for all the Pokemon, and a few re-releases of Gowin games. The seller also has some listings for Li Cheng's Mega Drive games, but I do not really play Mega Drive much. I'll attach a pdf copy of the listing, since I know these sorts of things tend to go down over time.

Note: I used Microsoft print to pdf, which messed up the how the pdf looks. You can still see some of the games on it (a few were cut off).

Here is a link to the page. It redirects if you are not located in China, but you can halt the redirect by using incognito mode on Firefox, or quickly downloading the webpage as an html before the redirect.

The Community / Re: idea for a new forum board
« on: February 21, 2020, 02:20:50 PM »
What would make this section distinct from the discussion center? Also, why would this section look different from the rest of PGC, and even have its own theme song? The only time I can remember PGC having a section that looked different from the rest of the site was the Blogspot.

You should probably put an epilepsy warning next to that link to that forum.

Also, are you suggesting making a new section of PGC/BGC, or a new forum altogether?

Game Boy / Re: Waixing GBC Game List
« on: February 13, 2020, 04:02:17 PM »
To my knowledge most Waixing GBC games are undumped, but based on this earlier post by "AttackedbyGlitch"
http://bootleg.games/BGC_Forum/index.php?topic=1576.msg16102#msg16102
at least "Legend" is dumped.

Edit: Turns out there are a few more dumped Waixing games out in China, but the websites hosting them usually appear to have fees associated with actually getting the ROM. Therefore I do not consider these games to have publicly available dumps. Some of these ROM hosting websites do have some pretty useful information about these games though, including some screenshots. Also, some of these are just re releases of other companies games, and some are just ports of Waixing's FC games.

Disclaimer: Don't download ROMs of games you don't own, and don't download stuff without considering it could be a virus. I did not check these files, download at your own risk

For an example "幻灵游侠" can be found here

Game Boy / Waixing GBC Game List
« on: February 12, 2020, 01:00:05 PM »
I was searching on Taobao earlier today and saw that someone had listed what appears to be most (if not all) of Waixing's GBC releases. I figured I'd at least post the pictures from it, just in case anyone wanted to start collecting these and needed a game list.

Game Boy / Re: Gowin English Game Distributor
« on: February 07, 2020, 01:47:15 PM »
I noticed that most of the Gowin games known to be released in English are either in color, or appear to have had color added to them.

Based on Gowin's site the list of English games was GS16, GS15, GS13, GS12, GS11, GS10, GS09, GS05, and possibly Crouching Tiger (which I think is GS17) but I don't know if that one ever got released. This list seems to match up with Crystal Interactive's site.

Not too long ago though, I found an archived listing for an English copy of GS02 (Magic Ball) on a Polish shopping website. The copyright dates on the box suggest that the game was sold in the mid to early 90s. That too my knowledge is before the first color Gowin game was made. This means that in addition to the known set of English Gowin games that were sold by Crystal Interactive there was an older set of what were probably most of Gowin's mono games.

Discussion Center / A Neat Little Website
« on: February 02, 2020, 11:12:35 AM »
A while back I came across a neat little website called Skywaypro that had some unlicensed games for sale. They mainly sell Neo Geo stuff, but they have some gbc games in the other consoles section. I went ahead and bought a couple of their cheaper gbc games (mostly unlicensed fighting games) and they shipped them reasonably quickly. The stuff listed under Other Consoles has some stuff that I think is decently priced, but their special items section is pretty expensive. I'll leave a link to their website if anyone is interested.

Mega Drive/Genesis / Re: Bootleg Taiwan Mega Drive Games - Undumped?

On the Rockman Corner site I linked a person commented that Hammer Man is a hack of "Wani Wani World". I am pretty sure that one is also undumped.

Hammer Man X is a hack of a different game. Some gameplay of Rockheaven is on the internet, and I think there used to be more about it online, but there was never much on it.

Here's a link to the footage, see if it matches your cart (it matched mine).

Also, according to the comments section of that video Rockheaven is definitely undumped.

As for the Majong game, I have never seen it. There are some other Mahjong bootlegs on the Mega Drive according to bootleg games wiki. Maybe see if your cart is similar to one of those.

And here is Hammer Man

Pirate Talk / Re: Emulator for running SKOB's Fire Emblem
« on: November 06, 2019, 01:35:58 PM »
Some emulators that are good for running unlicensed Gameboy games are the Gambatte Emulator, Taizou's hhugboy, and the BGB Emulator. (I am assuming you are using the VBA Emulator, which does not work as well as the other ones I mentioned for unlicensed games.)

Game Boy / Re: Connection between Waixing and Vast Fame(?)!
« on: September 28, 2019, 09:25:28 PM »
That sounds possible, but Waixing has released Gowin games (specifically Stone Age) in their own carts, and has released a version of Pokemon Jade (the Telefang hack) on NES. That would be quite a few companies to have ties to, I think that it is more likely that they just look for games to re-release without consulting the original creators.

Here is a link to the Gowin re-release. http://repo.12bit.club/gb/26

I also found what looks like a news article that shows a picture of an English version of Crouching Tiger by Gowin and credits it towards Crystal Interactive. To my knowledge an English copy of that game has yet to be found.

Game Boy / Gowin English Game Distributor

Not too long ago I saw an article on a website called Worthplaying.com. They described a company called Crystal Interactive that once
sold English Gowin games. They left a link for the site, but the last time they were active appears to be early 2002.

Here's a link to the Worthplaying post

And here's one to an archived version of Crystal Interactive's site
