Kirby and the Amazing Mirror on the Game Boy Color

What do you think? I would be really interested to see if this is an actual port or an original game. I'm not that familiar with the cartridge designs, does the cart look like something made by a specific bootleg company?

Might as well be Kirby's Adventure or something. :( Looks pretty generic.

I've seen a few like that, with the same "酷" character and the CK-something ID - this one and this one did turn out to be something interesting but I think most are just title hacks/Chinese translations. I have "Onimusha 3" from that company for example which is really just Return of the Ninja. So it's hard to say for sure, but I'd probably lean towards it just being a title hack of one of the regular Kirby games.

I think I remember getting a title screen hack of Rockman World 3 with that  "酷" character on it too, so there is a good chance you both are right. That's a shame though, because I would have gladly picked it up if it was a port even if Makon made it.

It's just Kirby's Dream Land 1 or 2. I remember getting confirmation on that once before, think through someone saying so in an auction. Anyway, it's just another case of pirates using boxart as they please. It's not a port of the GBA game, trust me :)

While this was already conformed as false, it'd be hysterical (for me at least) to see a port of Kirby's Adventure to the GBC. But knowing how pirates go, that's never happen.

Yeah, I would like to see them try. Does anybody know if there are any Kirby pirates out there that aren't just lazy hacks?

I've never seen anything Kirby related that's a pirate original. Closest I know of is a supposed Kirby's Super Star port on Genesis, but it's mostly unfounded and never been confirmed so I wouldn't count on it being real.

I mean it's not a pirate original. But I have monster go! go! 2 that's a hack of Kirby's dreamland 2 on the gameboy where a Pikachu sprite takes the place of Kirby and the title screen is also changed. :)

Yeah if you're counting Kirby games hacked into other stuff, there's Wario Land II for the NES which is a hack of Kirby's Adventure.

I've also seen a couple of plug & play and/or all-in-one handheld games that use a slightly modified version of Kirby in one way or another.. but never a full-blown pirate original Kirby platformer.

Thanks for all the help, I'm crazy about Kirby games as you could probably tell.

Picrodus, if it's not too much trouble, could you please upload footage of Monster Go! Go! 2? I've really wanted to see that one in action after how much effort went into the first one.

I would like to but ATM I can't because I use my tablet's camera and record straight off the game boy. When I try to focus the tablet on it, it isn't able to see the pikachu sprite. It can only really see the background. So for now it is really too blurry to be worth it. But soon I hope.
@ Beetle Hair. It probably wouldn't be as interesting to you because the only real changes are the title screen and Pikachu sprite. None of the enemies are changed.
