little big planet pirates?
« on: February 14, 2013, 08:27:15 PM »
So I find a lot of remakes on Little Big planet. Like final fantasy vii and zelda and mario and whatnot.

I'm not sure if I would call them "pirates" though. Like someone is remaking the entire final fantasy vii story line. But idk if thats a pirated game. Is it?

Like for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CO8xvTy-12k <--- is that a pirate? Or a fanmade game? Or is fanmade and pirate the same?

That's definitely NOT what a pirate is. By that logic all fangames would be called pirates :x

A pirate is better seen as an unofficial game that uses another companies copyrighted characters, story line etc. and is being sold without any consent of the original creators. Even then, if someone made a fangame online and was selling it, that still kind of doesn't fit the traditional idea of a pirate. If copies of the game were being produced and sold in Africa or something( :D ), then that'd count though.

Mostly has to be something that's being sold in stores to try to trick the consumer into thinking its an original product to be called a pirate.

No, this isn't a pirate. It's a community level from LittleBigPlanet. You can make levels in the game, and put them online and stuff. :P I have a PS3, I know what I'm talking about.

Yay, now I have something to program these days! I'll program a remake of my favorite missions in ff games once I get around to it.

So that remake wasn't piracy?

That reminds me of Doom WAD's. It's just a fanmade level modification as Rob said.

Alright, well basically there's like a 'My Moon' (level editor) option in LBP, and you unlock it after the first couple story levels. Later on you get cameras and stuff, to make it look awesome and stuff like that.

Little Big Planet is perfect to make your own game, i Wonder the community here make a replica inspired of those pirates games where you played as crazy.

I Have LBP Karting is good to create 3d games
