Super Mario World (NES) gfx hack
« on: February 05, 2013, 10:03:37 PM »
Hey :)
I'd like to introduce my new project: a graphics hack of Hummer Team's Super Mario World.
All I have to show right now is a video comparing old and new title screens.

More updates soon! Hope you like it!  :)

Oh wow, I tried doing something like this once but I ended up losing interest in it. D:
This is pretty cool though, I'd love to see this finished!

EDIT: Moved topic to Hacker Center since this is a ROM hack.

I considered doing this before! Sometimes with other games too. Never got around to it since I keep coming up with other things to do and can't ever stick with one.

Looking good so far!

Oops, sorry KingPepe! And thanks for your support! =)
This idea already crossed my mind many times over the last decade. I always tought it would be a hard task but it's being easier than I was expecting.
Unfortunately it will be a gfx-hack only. I wish I had knowledge to replace music with the ones created by Acmlm years ago: http://acmlm.cjb.net:2/emu/asm/nsf/SMW.nsf

I personally think that the Hummer's version looks roughly as colorful as the original compared to the hack, but not that the hack looks terrible, no. It's worth the effort!

Will wait for the final version.

I've posted a new video - now showing an updated title screen + copyright, overworld and "Mario Start!" screens: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfFmAOPr-kc
