That sounds like something I've experienced with an old Yong Yong dump (Digimon 4 to be precise.)  The game I sent Taizou was a copy that I completely played through, just in case the idea that it might be the game itself came up.

Yeah, I think Stone Age by Gowin does the same thing too. And I got one of the Yong Yong Digimon games to do it when I was messing around with cheat codes.. it actually booted into the same red/blue/green palette Sonic 7 uses for its intro. I've also seen it in a Yong Yong game on a real cart, for that matter. In fact I've even seen it in Pokemon Gold when I was trying to hack it and I screwed up, so it's not something that only happens in unlicensed games. I think it happens when a game is running on a GBC (or emu in GBC mode) but it resets and for some reason thinks its running on a mono GB, so it just uses some weird default palettes. In the Yong Yong games it makes the music speed up too, presumably because the GBC processor is faster and it messes up the timing of their sound engine.

I think it was just a one time thing. =\
I played it again and it didn't reset. Weirdness.

hmm, weird - just a random glitch I guess. (which emulator are you using, btw? I had an issue with Pokemon Ruby sometimes crashing during battles in VBA-M which didn't happen in other emus)

Interesting thing spotted in the Digimom Sapphii ROM: not only are there random sprites from Harvest Moon in there (as often seems to happen in Sintax's games), but there's a title screen for that game at 0x2E4011:

Curiously, although it does indeed read 牧場物語, this title screen is not that of the Japanese version-- rather, it seems to be a back-translation of the English title screen (!), which has an entirely different design. This might also explain the 16x16 Chinese font (including Taiwanese phonetic characters) at 0x244004-- as far as I can surmise, Sintax built their ROMs on a Chinese translation hack of Harvest Moon.

I'm surprised you're getting all these games dumped. Was it you who had that Beggar Prince port from Sintax? That's something I'd like to see if you ever could figure it out =p

BTW are you just using that GBTransfer2 or whatever device and then modifying the dumps it outputs?
