Cyber Famulator lite
« on: August 09, 2012, 01:32:23 AM »
So today I learned of this actually legit ( actually licensed by Nintendo) famiclone. That uses the ds to play famicom games. Anyways I won't post more info here so just look at the link. I already bought a copy on a site I found despite other peoples thoughts. It was suprisingly hard to find a site to buy it on. Tell me if you want the link of where to buy it. :)  But still think its strange that Nintendo actually licensed it. O.o

No thanks, I'd rather get a DS emulator or OneStation for that.

Exactly. The NES hardware has been patented out since long ago, so that in fact wouldn't require any kind of licensing, except the one considering the DS itself.

...and that the package doesn't bear Nintendo's logo appearantly.

Okay, the photo of the package may be just partly covered up by the Famulator itself, but I still don't see any signs of Nintendo's approval on it. Given that when you produce software or hardware for DS and want to make some moneys on it, you don't just need, you ought to get a license from Nintendo itself...

why should they? Nintendo never would have approved it anyway. I'm sure they don't want people to play their old Famicom carts, they'd rather they just bought them all over again on Virtual Console.

Taizou but they are too expensive on virtual console. That is the point of finding the famicom cartiridges.
