None of the roms for Link Dragon that I've tried seem to have sound.  Although there is a sound test option in the menu, however the entire game seems to be silent... Does anyone have a version of this rom that plays actual sounds, does the original cart?  Or is this game just broken/unfinished?

I've been wondering about this for ages. Hanmin Liao is credited for music in the ending, so I'd assume it is supposed to have sound. But IIRC the ending isn't normally accessible (in emulators anyway) because in one of the later levels, a fireball appears within a block so you can't eat it. So either the game really is unfinished/broken, or there's some kind of copy protection/bad emulation/bad dump at work here... but someone might need to find an original cart and play it on an original MD (or a decent clone, nothing AtGames) before we have the answer.

Actually, the game DOES have music in the cart version, and it shares tracks with the GB port by Gowin.  If you want, I can upload a video of the game to show it off seeing as I own a copy of the game.

Here ya go.  ;)   It's just the tracks in the sound test; I'll do a video of the gameplay later if anyone cares.

Awesome! Thanks for the vid.

Now the next question is, can anyone dump this game in such a way that sound isn't lost?

Oh, cool. I'd always wondered about this myself-- especially which of Gamtec's three sound drivers they used. (Looks like it's the Shi-Kin-Joh one, for the record.)

Track 5 is just epic. Reminds me a lot of Barver Battle Saga's castle theme. (Which makes me wonder... is Hanmin Liao another alias for Yishen a.k.a. Dasen Liao?)

Is your cart a single game or multi? All I've ever saw it available on were multi-game pirates.

It's a single cart, and it appears to be an official release by Songtly, too.
