A friend of mine has been looking for Hercules 2 for Mega Drive for some time now. I bought a bunch of unlicensed games this past week and included in them was Hercules, which I bought for him.
Got it in today and the cart itself looks like it's been through hell. There's a chunk missing out of the plastic shell and the label is held on with clear packing tape. It wouldn't boot up at first and I went through about a half-dozen cotton swabs trying to get all the grime off the contacts.
Plug it in and notice a weird title screen...then I notice it's not Hercules 2 but Hercules 1, a hack of
this game. I guess I cursed myself because I just happened to update the Hercules 2 entry on the wiki a week or so ago with the information regarding this oddball hack (and why Hercules 2 has a 2 on the end).
Has anyone ever played through this hack? Is anything different other than the title screen? And how in the world did anybody figure this would be an appropriate game to charade as a Hercules game?
