What is up with the VT389 Famiclone chip?
« on: March 14, 2026, 02:24:37 PM »
Well, the CubeTechnology repertoir has been the bane of me for the last 1.5 months of my life.

The Project PnP archive has dumped ROMs from CubeTech games that are present in handheld consoles, and are made in the VT369 chip at original NES resolution.
But I've heard about the VT389 with "interlaced 512x480 resolution", as well as an enhanced VT268, in which the versions of these games found in their tabletop plug and plays (Reactor Arcade, Miwi Mi-Games, dreamGEAR) seem to run.

My question is: can these versions be dumped in any possible way? Has this been attempted before? Is there any current technology to emulate the VT389/VT268 chip? As checking its mappers, NintendulatorNRS doesn't seem to have support for them.

Anyway, this is my first post in this forum, so I hope I get a response to this. Thanks! ;D
