Sorry for the late answer, i was doing something else, like, work. The slot doesn't look damaged. Have you tried cleaning it? Perhaps there's some very small dust particles in it.

It's really small, enough to fit in that hole. I'd lend it to you if only Brazil shipping cost was not so expensive.

It's improbable, but possible that it's a software problem, the OS of your machine has been damaged somehow and now must be repaired. That is, like i said it's unlikely, so i recommend first resoldering it like CAIROCREATOR said and see what happens. How old is your machine? Old machines tend to be no longer supported.
