Project Plug 'n Play (new)
« on: January 02, 2019, 06:59:03 PM »
A new release of Project Plug and Play. This is mostly a "maintenance release" that has only a few new game (versions) but updates all VT03/VT09/VT32 ROM headers for current versions of NintendulatorNRS, removes redundant versions that only had copyrights and two player options hacked away, reorganizes the folder structure, and restores a few copyright notices.

If a filename contains a tilde, it means that a copyright was restored but it still needs to be verified against a real console with the copyright intact for correct positioning and coloring.

Restorations that required no assumptions at all are not specifically marked. I have not included educational computer ROMs in this release, as more research needs to be done on which ROM was originally developed for which educational computer.

Edit: Updated 2019-11-05.

What version of the Nintendulator (NRS) emulator do you recommend? VT03 and other VT tagged games do not open?

Sonic Mal is missing the Mojon Twins text on the main page and has different maps from the version in Mojon Twins Gran Sabiduría – 31 in 1.

When you do an update, if you do one that is, could you dump the rest of Inventor's hacks, and correctly dump Nice Code's Spiderman 3? Thanks.

New release. Not many news:
  • a few additional restorations of TWLS logos;
  • removed a few hacks that turned out were homebrew rather than Inventor hacks;
  • added a few title-screen-bearing versions of JungleTac games;
  • now includes a "list.txt" file to search for a particular ROM file name, to know in which archive it can be found.
Updated the download link in the first post of this thread.

I realized that Bolide (Guerilla War Hack) & Coin Tetris (The alt version in the 36 in 1 plug n play that has different new music) are not in this Project Plug n Play just yet. :-[ ::)

It also lacks Crash Bandicoot, Mario Kart And Metal Slug Advance (Nice Code Software) from Family Karaoto 66-in-1 or Wolsen 200-in-1.

These games are not in the Project because the Plug and Play consoles from which they could be extracted have not been dumped, as far as I know. So it does not "lack" anything in the sense that it could possibly contain them but does not.

I found this dumps today on the NesDev dorum:

In case you don't have them, here are a handful of obscure ROMs I found/ripped recently. Also, a new console in MAME called the Retro FC Plus has some previously undumped Inventor hacks, but I can't figure out how to rip them (the code seems to be weirdly scrambled for all the games, even the CHR data makes no sense...)

EDIT: Retro FC Plus games were extracted here. http://forum.pegasus-gry.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=2orsnc0orgdg7164rnj779bta1&topic=7631.msg70460#msg70460
