23 + 222-in-1 Problems.
« on: July 25, 2013, 06:09:02 AM »
Hey. I bought one of those 23 + 222-in-1's (which are like, all over TaoBao.) and I can't get it to fit into ANY of my Famiclones. >_>

What do I do to even get the damn thing to fit properly? >_< I hope somebody knows out there.

Could you be a bit more specific?  I know some bootleg Famicom carts have thicker boards in them that make them more difficult to insert/remove.  It's also possible that maybe the board is facing the wrong way inside the cart, so you'd have to flip it around.

The case is a little too small. I've managed to get the cart to fit by forcing it in now, but yeah that's probably not good for it.

I see.  Maybe try popping it open and seeing if you can stuff it into a different Famicom cart?  Some unlicensed ones like the Waixing carts open up fairly easy, though they also have different tab layouts so it may not fit in all of them.  I'm sure you wouldn't wanna try inserting the bare board into your famiclones.

Yeah, if you have another cart that doesn't work you can try putting the PCB in it.

Well, sadly I don't. I got the cart to work now anyway, but yeah it's a bit of a tight fit.

Odd, I remember the 245 in 1 I had being smaller than a standard Famicom cart. I'm guessing yours has a different design.

Oh alright. If I can't get it to fit again, I'll try that. Thanks!

Those multicarts, originally, can only be run on NOAC's (glob-topped famiclones as well), fortunately there is a quite simple way to omit that by rolling a by-pass mod to make them perfectly working on EVERY kind of FC/NES and clones. All you need to do is simply desolder OE pin from CHR-RAM chip and solder it to unused CHR/RD pin 17.
