1984-1992 / Dooly Bravo Land NES?(Daou 1992)
« on: February 23, 2017, 09:24:36 PM »
I feel like while there are some pirated/unlicensed games that are on an audio/visual technical level higher than a majority of its console's licensed stuff, the only time that an unlicensed game is more playable or fun than licensed, is if compared to the licensed shovelware garbage. The only unlicensed game that I would legitimately say plays better than its licensed brethren is Jang Pung 3 on Master System, which is better than any other 8-bit console fighter I can think of.

Regardless I'm a fan of Dooly the character based on some of the stuff I dug up online about him years ago, so I am excited for this.

That game is horrible, thanks for reminding me of this.
Be honest, aren't a majority of the games we cover here trash? The quality of the game is not what draws us to them

Are there any 1-on-1 fighters available for it?
Not that I know of, the closest you're gonna get is probably Street Hero or one of its variants. However, I have seen a one-on-one fighter called King Boxing on some cheap-o handheld which seems to use cloned Game King hardware.
Oh bloody heck I saw that so long ago I didn't even realize that it was anything similar to the Game King. I'd like to know if that game is available or works on the GK proper... maybe I'll find out some day.

Thanks for that!

That's what it looks like! Pretty impressively so, too, or at least I feel as such.

Interesting. Can't say I've seen it before.

Looks like it's on the undumped list though.

Shazzbot,  I was hoping for roster additions. Interesting development, though.

Thanks for checking. Now time for the noob question (even though I'm sort of not)
How do you monkey with mappers? I downloaded a util last night that was supposed to do the trick (the very imaginatively named "NES Mapper Program") and it didn't seem to be able to actually let me do what I wanted to.

Good news guys. The game along with Magic Kid Googoo were dumped and will be available soon. Speaking of Magic Kid, it was assigned mapper 190 (Kevtris is on his way of spreading the mapper info to emulator developers, including CaH4e3) so it might take some time before the mapper gets its initial support by emulators.
Ahh holy shit I love Dooly. It'll be exciting to finally play this one.

Famicom/NES dumps / ROM Requests

Thank you for helping to clarify.

Here's the most recent one I've gotten (I've just been overwriting the non-working ones with each subsequent one). In VirtuaNES it just shows a gray screen, and in NESticle it crashes. Each copy I've downloaded does the same thing.

Every copy I can find of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 4 doesn't seem to work on any of my emulators. D: Has anybody a working one?

Other dumps / ROM Request: Gamate
« on: February 07, 2017, 08:33:29 PM »
Good day!

I've been looking for Gamate ROMs but all I've been able to find are a few that I wasn't interested in like Baseball.

Every time I've asked this question elsewhere I've just been pointed to a spreadsheet. I may be dim but I don't think I can get the ROMs from a spreadsheet. I'd even tried things like Googling some of the data in the spreadsheet, but to no avail.

The specific ones I'm looking for are the same ones I'd want to get if I had a Gamate: Kung-Fu Fighter, Dinosaur Park, Heaven Clash/Quiz Fighter, Metamorphosiser/Tough Guy, and Further Adventures of Hannibal the Cat.

Thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide.

Cheers,
Ninji

I think I'd like to have a Famicom Mini for Yie Ar Kung-Fu and Pac-Man. I mean, I already have access to these games otherwise but... I dunno...
