Other Pirates / Re: Supervision: handheld of the less fortunate

Nice. It's a bit strange that the protective case doesn't say Taike Boy on it

Other Pirates / Sachen's Less Documented Mega Duck Titles
« on: September 04, 2022, 11:39:03 PM »
Not really bootleg games, but most users here have somewhat of an interest in Sachen, so I figured I'd post this. The Mega Duck is sort of infamous for having a really small game library. On wikipedia the library shown appears to be the Brick Wall by Timlex, and a whole bunch of Sachen games that all got released on the DMG and GBC Gameboys. However I was going through some scans saved on Rami's blog and noticed that there was a Sachen flyer that had games not mentioned on wikipedia. I then did a google search and got no English results on these games, so they appear to be fairly obscure. I saw a different site that had a list that included them, as well as a few other titles I did not recognize. Under the IDs columns only Hartung IDs were shown, suggesting that these might not have been released outside of Germany. Has anyone here seen these?

Famicom/NES / Re: Prototype games on vintage multicart?
« on: July 14, 2022, 09:44:59 PM »
I've never seen that before, though I don't really collect famicom stuff. Here is a Xianyu listing for it if you are looking to get a copy. I don't see anything interesting on the games list on the back though
Edit: The sticker for the one I linked shows different games. I guess it was made by the same company

Game Boy dumps / Re: Pokemon Chikorita ROM
« on: April 04, 2022, 09:17:51 PM »
That post is down now. I'm not sure if it was even a good dump. There is at least one nongoodgbx set I've seen that added it, and I think someone reposted it in the BGC discord if you want to check there. I'm not posting non-working dumps anymore though (not that I have that one saved on my computer at the moment)

I think I've seen some other games that were released in packaging that looked like that. If I remember right one of them was Digimon Crystal II by Sintax

Thank you. Most of Waixing's games were made by Hitek, who used the header name from Harvest Moon 2 for all of their games

Game Boy / Re: [GBC]Have these been dumped yet?

To my knowledge almost all the types of copy protection used by bootleg/unlicensed gameboy developers would stop a ROM from running on a flashcart. Try running some raw dumps from hhug on your flashcart, they usually don’t work in my experience. You might have an ok dump, but I don’t think that can be confirmed without someone cracking the copy protection.

Game Boy / A Correction on some KOF R2 Misinfo I posted a Long Time Ago
« on: December 18, 2021, 08:42:33 PM »
A while back I made the claim that the King of Fighters R2 Engine was based off of the Beast Wars game by Takara because it seemed like games using that engine had some compatibility with Beast Wars in terms of save states. Specifically it was a raw dump of Dragon Ball Final Bout using BBD unlicensed copy protection mode in hhugboy that I did this testing on. Here is a save state I had made in Beast Wars that made me think this, this is a save the screen that appears before a fight in Beast Wars, which when loaded in Final Bout would cause a corrupted looking fight sequence to begin (which would then crash after the timer ticked down a bit). I no longer feel confident enough in these findings to keep that assertion on the wiki that KOF R2 uses Beast Wars engine, which is why I removed that from the wiki, but I figured I may as well post why I thought this to begin with. I'll include my save states, as well as the Final Bout ROM I used when testing this out. Sorry for jumping the gun on that one, my bad

They do not work in emulators, so I am not sure if these are good dumps. I think I ripped these off the multicart with the English versions of these games

It looks like your edits were undone by Carloscreate100. Maybe he thought that the pages for those games were not finished enough to have links for. I'd recommend asking him, he has links to his socials on his wiki page

Why wouldn't that be allowed?

This looks cool. I'll probably use this for any new ROMs I upload

That might make it difficult to rip ROMs off of a multicart. I don't think that usd devices that add a parallel port to a computer work with most ROM dumping devices, and most devices that don't hook the gameboy directly up to the computer just wind up ripping the multicart menu. I do not know of a ROM of a pokemon game with a PIS watch in it, though i have not gone looking for one. Are the pokemon hacks in chinese or english?

75
What does PIS watch mean? Also, do you have a computer with a parallel port? If you plan to dump games off of a multicart, then you'd need to be able to rip them with something like gblinkdl (which Taizou mentioned here, which only works with (I want to say 25 pin) parallel ports
