Pirate Talk / Chinese dumper
« on: August 18, 2010, 05:58:52 AM »
I searched around to see who dumped that Super Cool Boy cartridge. At first I found this site:
http://sites.google.com/site/madcell/ (Panda is on second page)
Unfortunately the Panda Adventure rom's download link is dead. But if you click on the link in the chinese text (on Panda article), you see that interesting dumper page.
it is: http://hi.baidu.com/tszone_fc
He dumped many Waixing games but there are also some older stuff.

1993-1999 / Hummer may have programmed...
« on: August 15, 2010, 01:21:43 PM »
... Earthworm Jim 3 and MK4.

How do I know ?
If we count all the games made in 1997, only 3 were made under JY. While in 1996, Hummer team made 6 games !
So if he had those 2 games (EWJ3/MK4), we can count 5 games.

And actually it would make sence since KoF96 was more likely made in 1998. So the music guy and Y.Y.C was still working with Hummer Team.

Also, EWJ3 use the DKC4 engine. Also the SMW music being in EWJ3.
And I just saw that EWJ3 and DKC4 easter eggs use the same number of button.

Pirate Talk / Your favorite and least favorite pirate music(s)
« on: August 09, 2010, 02:23:37 PM »
Yes, I'm sure you guys have a favorite music of a pirate game.

Mine (fav) are (not in order)
Harry's Legend title screen
Super Mario World's ending
Chun Lee music in Street Fighter 2 Zero '97
Yossy stage in Kart Fighter
Underwater theme in Super Mario World.

I hate:
Harry Potter 1001
Street Fighter III musics (all of them)

2000-present / Yuu Yuu Hakusho on a JY multicart...
« on: August 09, 2010, 10:30:11 AM »
A bit worthless but still important to point.

Unless, I'm crazy, on top right and left, there's JY written in black on a pink circle

Yes it does says CK, but if the number is right, then it would be JY-124 or SC-124. My friend is going to open the cart and see if it has any JY id or date (when it was made).
It seems it is a late JY cart but I'm not 100% sure.

I guess some people will this a bit useless, but just to show that JY had Yuu Yuu hakusho in their hand.

1984-1992 / strangeness about Street Fighter II..
« on: August 02, 2010, 02:56:03 PM »
Here's the question:
Master Fighter II or Street Fighter II ?

Because this auction poped up on YHJ few weeks ago...
http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h143585523
I noticed one difference between the 2 games: MFII has chinese text instead of YOKO on Chun Lee stage.

Maybe MF was supposed to be sold in other countries than Taiwan... Or maybe we will never know (note: my copy of SFII is actually MFII).

Any idea ?

Famicom/NES / Please rename each sub part
« on: August 02, 2010, 06:43:49 AM »
All parts should be renamed as something like this.
You guys chose he wrong bits number and the year aren't very good.

Starting . . .
(1986 to 1992)

Most active years (or middle part or whatever)
(1993 to 1999)

21th Century
(2000 to today)

These cuts are much better than the actual ones. 1986 to 1994 is too long and 1995 to 1998 is not enough. It's like you cut exactly when hummer team is created and stop activities... Other companies exist too... And why start the list with Hummer Team anyway ? An alphabetical order is better !

And also, do we need to enter games by their release date or copyrights date ?Nobody knows about that...
