2000-present / Looking for 2-in-1 Street Dance + Hit Mouse
« on: June 03, 2016, 08:09:19 PM »
Was the 2 in 1 Street Dance even released in a Famiclone? I was never sure if it was that or a cartridge that came with a dance mat you'd plug into a Famiclone or something along those lines.

Super Famicom/SNES / Mortal Kombat Mythologies Gold 2000
« on: April 05, 2016, 06:59:50 PM »
It's cool to see that there's a SNES version of this. I do wonder if all of these late 90s/early 2000s Mega Drive bootlegs were ported to SNES too. Like, stuff like this and the first Pocket Monster game were released on both so who knows? :)

Famicom/NES / Mario Kart F1 race hack (actually looks decent?)
« on: March 05, 2016, 07:16:00 AM »
There was a video of it on Youtube, but I can't find it unfortunately. If you look at the menu at the beginning of this video you'll see it listed there along with bootleg versions of Crash Bandicoot and Metal Slug. I don't even fully remember if it is a hack of F-1 Race or if it's made from scratch, I know the other two were developed by Nice Code.

Pirate Talk / Bootleg/Unlicensed Star Wars Games?

I think there was a pirate hack of Zen: Intergalactic Ninja called Return of the Jedi but I think the copyright screen is all they changed in it. Can't really think of any aside from that though.

(Oh, also, not related to bootleg games per se, but definitely related to bootleg something: if you've ever watched "Animal Soccer World", or any of Dingo Pictures' other knockoff cartoons, you may possibly recognize "Zip & Cindy" from KT44: Comedy/Animation Volume 1. Just maybe.)[/quote]Hah, should have known that they'd be too incompetent to make decent music on their own  I remember that Toy Story knockoff they did had some Italo disco-sounding tune for the intro.

Anyway, I'm surprised these bootleggers don't just use music like this all the time. Then again, I suppose they don't have to worry about being sued over using well-known copyrighted music.

Other Pirates / Waixing's 32-bit console, now in Lexibook form
« on: January 10, 2016, 07:44:26 AM »
I'm pretty certain the announcer just read the lines phonetically and hoped for the best

Tarrow Maze (on part 4 somewhere) is pretty weird, it's like someone tried to combine Chip's Challenge and Dragon Quest somehow.

And yeah, no way in hell I'd get this for £49.

Damn, the idea of a bootleg proprietary system that takes SD cards sounds interesting IMO. I'd totally get it just to play those bootleg games it comes with (that Mario knockoff looks kind of funny x3) but living in the UK I have no idea if they're being sold here. I might try looking in the local cheapo supermarkets just out of interest ;)

Apologies for not bringing this up myself outside of Twitter (stuff like this makes for good snark bait ;)) but I might as well point out a few things I noticed:

The game about 1:17:30 is a direct ripoff of an old Flash game I forgot the name of with very similar looking (if not the same) graphics
The song at 1:18:30 was clearly made with Music 2000 in like 5 minutes
One of the sound effects in the skiing game 1:47:30 in is literally taken from Windows 3.1 of all things
The shooting game 2:07:00 in is also on the NJ Pocket, albeit with different music I think
The music 2:14:30 in was also ripped off for Magic Jewelry, but I don't remember what the song was called off-hand >_<

I'm also willing to believe that those pictures in the vaguely Qix-esque games are just ripped off from random shows or whatever. :v

Other Pirates / Bootleg IPhone port of Superman 64
« on: December 29, 2015, 04:37:11 PM »
I'm sure it's a bootleg regardless, but is there any proof as to what this actually is? I can't find any in-game screenshots anywhere.

Famicom/NES / Pirated NES Console (Undumped DreamGear 75-in-1?)
« on: October 21, 2015, 08:05:52 AM »
I'm pretty sure a variation of this is dumped that has 101 games, although some of the games on the 75 in 1 version are missing on that. :\

Mega Drive/Genesis / Help!

Does the cart use the Japanese Mega Drive design? If so, you'll need an adapter of some sort to get it to fit in a US/EU Mega Drive.

1984-1992 / C&E's Decathalon
« on: September 27, 2015, 03:13:13 PM »
Seems plausible to me. I have no idea where BGW's Twitter came up with that theory, but I know AVE folded the same year the game was made (1992), and a few other games they were going to publish went unreleased.
