Bootleg Bazaar / FS/FT: Gowin's Prince Rainbow (Game Boy)
« on: June 06, 2015, 02:28:42 AM »
For sale is Prince Rainbow, by Gowin.  The game can be seen below.

This is a fun shooter, and one of the harder Gowin games to find (GS05), as it is one of the earlier releases.

I am asking $25 shipped for the game, including tracking code, worldwide.  Please PM me if interested.  I will also accept trades, if someone has anything of interest.

1984-1992 / The various versions of Poke Block
« on: May 02, 2015, 01:46:03 PM »
I am trying to figure out about the various versions of the Idea-Tek game, Poke Block.  Here is what I know thus far:

Number Tiles versions:

-4 in 1 (MGC-26) version:  One of four games on a multicart, credits 1991 copyright screen with Idea-Tek as the owner.  Micro Genius was the publisher of this cart.

-Poke Block (MGC-12) version:  1991 copyright screen, Idea-Tek credited, published my Micro Genius

-Stakk'm (found on AVE's Maxi 15 cartridge):  American Video Entertainment is the publisher, TXC is the copyright owner, 1992 release

Mahjong Tiles versions:

AV Dragon Mahjang version:  Nudity added, 1991 copyright, published in Japan by Hacker International

Mahjong Block:  1991 copyright, Idea-Tek credited, as well as Super Mega (SM is the publisher, I guess)

Other Versions known to exist (contents unverified):

-MGC-023 (one game on a 6 in 1 cart by Micro Genius)

-MGC-008 (Mahjong Block) - published by Micro Genius

-MGC-004 (Pipe Block) - published by Micro Genius

The information about these three titles comes from the page below, but I don't know which version of the game they contain, along with if there are changes to the title screen credits or not.

http://cah4e3.shedevr.org.ru/cartsbase.php

Now my questions are as follows:

(1)  Has anyone ever seen a Famicom version of Poke Block (number tiles version), which was PUBLISHED by Idea Tek?  The closest I have found is the Dragon Mahjong version by Super Mega, which had published several Idea Tek games.

(2)  Was the game ever released under the Stakk'm title on Famicom?  (I think probably not)

(3)  Does anyone have any pictures of either the title screen or cartridge for the infamous "Pipe Block" version of the game, which is mentioned on cah4e3's page?  Other than his note, I have not found anything on this version of the game.

Thanks!

On another note, I saw a picture from a Micro Genius console box that shows a version of Poke Block with Super Mega credited, as well as Idea-Tek.  This lends some credence to another version of the game being out there, with IT/SM as the publisher.  I have not found anything else besides a screenshot from a console box though.

Game Boy / Gowin Games GS-14
« on: February 25, 2015, 02:03:33 PM »
I was checking through my Gowin collection tonight to help out another collector, with whom I have been chatting with online.  I then discovered something horrible:  I own all of the Gowin games, #1 - #18, plus a few different art variations, and the two known multi-game packs....but...I seem to be missing GS-14, whatever that is.  Maybe that game is sitting in my collection and I somehow overlooked it, or maybe I have been thinking that I had a complete Gowin game collection for the past 6 months, when in fact, I am missing one of the games.

Therefore, I wonder (and hope someone can help me):  what game is number GS-14?

Bootleg Bazaar / Weekend Sale Only: Unlicensed Games and Pirates
« on: January 03, 2015, 05:05:46 PM »
I was visiting my parents for the past few weeks and this is my last weekend that I am staying with them, before I go back to my apartment.  Naturally, I began cleaning some things out, and I stumbled upon some items that I would like to sell.  Because of leaving, anything I don't sell I would let at my parents, until next year when I try to sell it again.  So for those interested people, here is your chance:

#1:  Game Boy Sachen Collection - $41 shipped

Includes Sachen 4 in 1 volumes 1, 5, 8, and 9 for Game Boy Color.

#2:  Famicom Set - $21 shipped

Includes Tetris (licensed), Operation Wolf, 4 in 1, 92 in 1, and 9 999 999 in 1.

#3:  Queen Fighter 2000 - $30 shipped

This is an excellent unlicensed Game Boy fighting game made by Vast Fame.  The game is quite rare, and more information can be found at the following link:

http://bootleggames.wikia.com/wiki/Queen_Fighter_2000

#4.  Binary Monsters 2:  Adventure of Hell - $30 shipped

This is another excellent unlicensed Game Boy game, though this one plays more like Mario Land.  It is made by Gowin.  The game is quite rare, and my last copy I have for sale.

#5:  Game Boy Multicart Pack - $30 shipped

You get three games, all boxed. .

#6:  Action 52 (NES) - $200 OBO Shipped

*Note:  There is some damage to this cart.  Part of the plastic was chipped off on the side, and as such, the one side is coming open partially (though could probably be closed shut again).

#7:  VT 4 in 1 (Famicom) - $25 shipped

Contains Mortal Kombat 2, Mortal Kombat 3, TMNT, TMNT Tournament Fighters

All items are shipped priority mail with tracking, can sell to US members only.  For international members, if interested, let me know and I can mail the package to you when I return to Taiwan (sending from Taiwan to abroad is cheaper than from the USA to abroad)
The GB stuff is all new old stock, btw
Here is a pic of the Famicom multicart:

Game Boy / Monster Go Go Go
« on: November 28, 2014, 12:01:23 AM »
I read the page on the Bootleg Wikipedia, but it didn't answer my question so I am posting it here.  A long time ago, the bootleg page for Vast Fame had said that Monster Go Go Go was thought to be an early hack that they did, something I always felt to be a bit strange considering the fact that VF created quality unlicensed original games for the rest of their life, as opposed to hacks.  Later this information was edited out.

So my question is, what information was there initially to suggest that this was ever even possible to be an early Vast Fame game?  Thanks.

Bootleg Bazaar / FS: Virtual Fighter 2 vs Tekken 2 (Sega MD)
« on: May 10, 2014, 10:32:57 AM »
To make a long story short, I found a small cache of Virtual Fighter 2 vs Tekken 2 carts, for the Sega Mega Drive.  It is this game:

http://bootleggames.wikia.com/wiki/Virtua_Fighter_2_VS_Tekken_2

I have four copies, so if anyone here would like one, please PM me.  I will sell them for $18 shipped, and that includes tracking worldwide.  With no tracking, I can do $17 shipped.  If there is interest, I will take pictures.  These are originals, not reprints.

2000-present / Shanghai Paradise Originals
« on: April 08, 2014, 03:21:11 AM »
I see that Shanghai Paradise had developed several original games, such as these:

Blood of Jurassic
F22 (Navigator)
Monkey King
Underground Mission
Street Dance

Now I know that Blood of Jurassic was released as a single cart, on cartridge format.  Are any of the others confirmed to exist on cartridges and not plug n play?  Single carts or multicarts?  Thanks.

« on: January 03, 2014, 02:01:17 AM »
Hi, these boards seem pretty much dead, but I am making the rounds posting this, hoping that someone out there can help me out.  I really want to finish up my Sachen collection this year (wanted to do so last year but failed), here is what I need:

-Pyramid 2
-Lucky 777
-Great Wall
-Tasac
-Tough Cop
-Super Pang
-Super Pang 2
-Popo Team
-Rockball
-Silver Eagle
-Street Heroes

These need to be Famicom format.

I will post a trade list later:  some Famicom unlicensed games (some loose, some boxed), some unlicensed Game Boy stuff (b/w Gowin, Yong Yong), etc.

I am willing to trade or pay cash for the above carts.  I might be listing some of my trade stuff later this weekend though, so please message me sooner if you see something you want to trade.  I'll try to post my list of stuff later tonight.

Thanks guys.

1984-1992 / Ku Je Academy Sachen Games
« on: December 08, 2013, 04:24:31 AM »
Does anyone know anything about these carts?  They were supposedly published by Ku Je Academy in Korea, the one even has a different introduction screen.  Does anyone know how many titles were released?  Were there just two, or a whole line of Ku Je Sachen carts?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/181272665500

http://www.ebay.com/itm/171185893372

I put a bid in for both of these last night, as the auction was going to end while I was sleeping.  I thought my bid was crazy enough, and never expected that I would lose the two auctions to someone else!  Kind of bummed out, but better off without, for those prices, I guess.  :)

Now just looking for more info about these.

Does anyone here know of an unlicensed original game known as Transylvania III, or something similar to that?

1984-1992 / Mysterious Sachen TC-031...the mystery solved?
« on: October 21, 2013, 06:32:47 AM »
Today I cracked open an original copy of Rocman X for Famicom.  Besides a set of eproms, I noticed that the game was on board TC-31.  There was also a top label on my cart, reading "No. 527", but I have no idea what that meant.

That leads me to wonder something though. I noticed that Thunder Blast Man was game number TC-030 in a Sachen online catalogue, though as far as I can tell, this part number was completely arbitrary since the nowhere on the box, manual or cart itself did it list a part number.  So here are some thoughts running around in my head.

Maybe TC-30 is Thunder Blast Man, and TC-31 was reserved for the Mega Man rebranding of the game. I wouldn't be surprised if Sachen would do something like this.

Maybe the Rocman X cart I have is on the wrong circuit board.  Okay, so that could be possible too, but this was an original release, so that would be a bit odd.

On another note, I know that there are some small differences between Rocman X and Thunder Blast Man on Game Boy...are there any differences between the NES games of the same name, or are those two merely just label art difference?  (NES vs Famicom version).

Just some interesting thoughts and ramblings, feel free to comment.

Discussion Center / Stolen Pics on the Bootleg Games Wiki
« on: July 14, 2013, 01:34:47 PM »
I just want to ask how one can have pics removed off of the Bootleg Games Wiki?  I have seen some pics uploaded, which I had taken.  I feel a bit bitter about this issue, as no one had asked me about how I felt if these pictures were uploaded to the Bootleg Games Wiki, and they were just uploaded, sans permission.  So how do I get them removed?

Now before others jump on me like a bunch of harpies on a sailor, I just want to make mention on one thing.  I am working on a project involving bootleg games, and good-quality scans of these titles.  Maybe it is a book, maybe it is a database, maybe it is a bunch of pics of me, Mrs. Palmer, and my bootleg games, all in a bath tub.  The truth is though, it doesn't matter, needless to say I have future uses for the pics I took of the games I own, and I really don't like that Bootleg Games Wiki ripped me off like that, without even asking permission.

Someone please PM me about this, and then I hope the pics in question will be removed.  Thanks!
