The Big Old Arcade / Super Bat Puncher
« on: June 10, 2011, 11:37:39 PM »
This is a neat little NES homebrew game that's in development at the moment. The demo is only 2 levels as of now but it's pretty amazing.

The Big Old Arcade / Pocket Kyoro Chan
« on: May 31, 2011, 06:33:39 PM »
So my friend sent me a few Famicom games (nothing pirated, it's Kyoro Chan Land and Hi no Tori - Gaou no Bouken) and a Game Boy game known as Pocket Kyoro Chan. Has anyone ever played this game by any chance? I have no idea what the game is about.

Announcements & News / New sub-forum: Hacking Center
« on: March 16, 2011, 06:04:10 PM »
The Hacking Center has been added to the Pirate Discussion forum. This forum is meant for anything involving hacking the pirate games themselves.
A few things to mention:
  • For ROM hacks, they should at least be good. No stupid "lol graphic hack" crap. (That can go under Pirated Work anyways)
  • Should a sub-forum be made for a list of (dumped) games containing addresses for what they do and a list of values for those addresses?

BootlegGames Wiki / Credits?
« on: March 04, 2011, 08:03:27 PM »
Just throwing this out there but would it be a good idea to put on the developer pages who is commonly credited in the games? I was going to do Hummer Team's page but I wasn't so sure.

1993-1999 / Titenic's and UMK3's music
« on: February 19, 2011, 03:45:55 PM »
Ok so after searching around a bit, I noticed Titenic's/Harry's Legend's music isn't exactly original and actually did come from the movie's soundtrack. The only thing is that the NES versions are faster then the original and slightly different.

Level 3/Select Screen of Harry's Legend and Track 4 of MK4's NSF is Rose's Theme:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSZCFFpix2g

Level music (other then Level 3) of Harry's Legend is the Titanic theme (Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On), start at 0:20:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saalGKY7ifU

Still no idea where Harry's Legend's title screen music (definitely not from the Harry Potter film though) and boss music is from.

Also I tried identifying all the tracks in MK4 and this is what I came up with:
Track 1 - Superman Theme
Track 2 - MK3's select music
Track 3 - Kart Fighter (Unused)
Track 4 - Rose's Theme
Track 5 - Garou Densetsu Special's select music edited
Track 6 - The Bank from MK3 (done differently)
Track 7 - ???
Track 8 - Original, uses Track 6's triangle from Jing Ke Xin Zhaun though.
Track 9 - ???

Hacker Center / Street Fighter II Character States
« on: February 13, 2011, 07:19:21 PM »
So I've been fooling around with the hex editor quite bit in FCEUX and I found where the states that the characters are.
Addresses:
008E - Street Fighter II, Street Fighter IV, Mortal Kombat II, Dragon Ball Z - Super Butouden 2 (Master Fighter VI'? Not dumped yet)
009B - Kart Fighter, AV Bishoujo Senshi Girl Fighting
009F - Garou Densetsu Special, Mortal Kombat II Special, Power Rangers III
00A1 - Yuu Yuu Hakusho, Street Fighter II Zero 97, Mortal Kombat 4
00A4 - Shin Samurai Spirits 2 - Haoumaru Jigoku Hen , Tekken 2, King of Fighters 96

The thing that bugs me is that Kart Fighter is supposed to be an earlier version of the MKII engine but the address is different for that one. Also the NT SFII v2 engine games have a different (although somewhat similar) address then the JY SFII v2 engine.

Oh, here's the fun part. The hexadecimals that have the states in them? They're all the same. Look at this:
00 - Stand
01 - Crouch
02 - Crouch Block
03 - Walk Forward
04 - Walk Back
05 - Block
06 - Jump Up
07 - Jump Forwards
08 - Jump Backwards
09 - Hit High
0A - Hit Low
0B - Kick (Far)
0C - Kick (Close)
0D - Special Attack 1/Low Health move (Yuu)
0E - Jump Kick (Coming Up, Upward Jump)
0F - Jump Kick (Coming Down, Upward Jump)
10 - Punch (Far)
11 - Jump Punch (Coming Up, Upward Jump)
12 - Jump Punch (Coming Down, Upward Jump)
13 - Crouch Punch
14 - Crouch Kick
15 - Aerial Special Attack (Coming Up, Upward Jump)/Super Move (SF2Z97)
16 - Aerial Special Attack (Coming Down, Upward Jump)/Special Attack 4 (Mortal Kombat 4)
17 - Special Attack 2
18 - Throw/Special Attack 4 (Samurai Spirits 2/Tekken 2)
19 - Jump Punch (Coming Up, Forward Jump)
1A - Jump Punch (Coming Down, Forward Jump)
1B - Jump Kick (Coming Up, Forward Jump)
1C - Jump Kick (Coming Down, Forward Jump)
1D - Aerial Special Attack (Coming Up, Forward Jump)
1E - Aerial Special Attack (Coming Down, Forward Jump)/Special Attack 3 (Usually projectile)
1F - Jump Punch (Coming Up, Backwards Jump)
20 - Jump Punch (Coming Down, Backwards Jump)
21 - Jump Kick (Coming Up, Backwards Jump)
22 - Jump Kick (Coming Down, Backwards Jump)
23 - Aerial Special Attack (Coming Up, Backwards Jump)
24 - Aerial Special Attack (Coming Down, Backwards Jump)
25 - Punch (Close)
26 - Bouncing off of ground
27 - ??? (Weird getting hit state)
28 - Dizzy
29 - Lose/Timer Out
2A - Win
2B - Hit while crouch blocking
2C - Hit while blocking
2D - Fall into ground
2E - Tripped

All the other ones after that are either states where the character is getting thrown or it glitches. (Although SFII and SFIV repeats these states with different sprites)

Famicom/NES / Funky Rinco Buisness
« on: January 30, 2011, 09:11:28 PM »
Where to start...

Well, for anyone who has played The Dragon, we all know who Rinco is. The odd thing though about them is that we see their logo reappear in Panda Adventure's tiles. (if it helps, the logo is arranged the same way as it was in The Dragon but not the hand). In The Dragon, there's also Tony Tech and Ramar that is mentioned. I can probably see Tony Tech as the electronics company (similar to Taiwan Shin-Shin) but...who's Ramar? Are they the development team or are they the ones doing business in the Middle East? (The intro mentions Taiwan so it's likely Rinco is based in Taiwan).

The other thing is the logo in Panda Adventure. Now I highly doubt the ex-Hummer members took the logo for the shits and giggles so there had to be some relation behind these guys. Also they couldn't have vanished after publishing one game either. Maybe they published some of EX-Hummer's earlier games? (The only reason I mentioned "earlier" is because Harry's Legend doesn't have the logo anywhere) The only two EX-Hummer games that I know are dumped are Panda Adventure and Harry's Legend. My only guess is that Rinco published a few of the EX-Hummer games and then the rights were passed to Abab but...that still doesn't explain how Harry's Legend was made. (It was most likely made by the same people since the new graphics are custom and in the same style as the Titenic stuff).

But yeah, this topic is for discussing Rinco and the crap behind them.

Announcements & News / Signature/Banner thingy
« on: December 24, 2010, 08:54:10 PM »
Anyone here would be willing to make a banner for this forum to put in their sigs elsewhere? I sort of thought about this recently. My only suggestion is maybe just make it out of sprites from the pirated games themselves. (With the exception of the logo of course)
