Famicom/NES dumps / MiWi2 (VT168) Dumping Attempt

After something like 6 years (it's scary how time flies) I found the MiWi 2 cartridges lying about and wanted to get on with what I planned all those years ago or something and dumping them.

I've built a somewhat crude setup to do so, and am at least obtaining consistent dumps but unfortunately they won't run in EmuVT. Looking at the dumps a bit closer, the reset and interrupt vectors
appear in the right place for a OneBus ROM (0x7fffc for reset), and at least in the sports cartridge points to what starts off looking like valid code but then starts to go wrong. Strangely in the games cartridge it appears off by one.

Interestingly the code before the code pointed to the reset vector matches exactly what I found in a VT168 demo ROM. The string "WISE@DJJUNGLE.COM V1.0" appears 8 times (7 times plus the menu likely) in the sports ROM and 9 times in the games ROM, which again also appears in the VT168 demo ROM so may be included automatically by one of the VRTech tools rather than a credit per se - Wise Wang of Djjungle is also credited in EmuVT.

Also the string "BY S.MATSUOKA & S.IWATA" appears in the games ROM which I believe will be from one of the original NES games they ripped.

I do want to build a better dumping setup which I will hopefully have done in a couple of weeks which should rule out any possibility of bad dumps once and for all; but the strings and consistent results mean I think
that is fairly unlikely. It does appear that the VT168 has a small built in boot ROM so maybe they're doing some trickery in that.

The ROMs at present are linked below if anyone with wants to have a look - I would be interest to hear from anyone with more Famicom or OneBus dumping experience.

I've also ordered a few bits from Taobao as this has somewhat reminded me of my interest in pirate and obscure games...
WHAT? IT EXISTS? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MAKE IT PLAYABLE ON GAME BOY ADVANCE PLEASE, THIS WAS MY BIGGEST DREAM  8D

is there a emulator for wxn files?
Kind of. There's a plug-n-play called the Yeno Games 200-in-1 that runs .wxn files. If you have a micro SD card reader, you can take the little cartridge thingy out of the back of the system, put it in the reader, and then put the .wxn games on it. The emulator is REALLY bad though - the sound is all scratchy and the games run really slow. It runs NES too, and if you use the European ROMs they run at a (borderline) playable speed.
i think, i have this thing, but i need the os for the sd card, so that i can run this thing

Well my freind found some dumps, and he asked me to post it here, im not sure if these are dumped already or something... if they are i will have a talk with him  /:)
this is what he wrote in the txt file
All taken from http://dfqshy.ys168.com/ and nesbbs unless otherwise stated

Fuun Shaolin Kyo..................FDS Conversion by Whirlwind Manu(?), only works in
FCEUmm as far as I know, nothing special
Ling Jie Hu Fa....................Some Waixing platformer which looks and sounds very
Dragon Co-ish like Bao Xiao San Guo, also published
                           by Waixing
Porter............................Original(?) version which credits to "Mega Soft",
                                 taken from No-Intro set
San Guo Zhi - Xiong Ba Tian Xia...Some Waixing game presumably based around the Three
Kingdoms story. I'll admit to not understanding it
Seems to work randomly in FCEUX
Super 2-in-1......................Strange multi dumped by tszone and hacked to use
mapper 241 (unhacked raw version included too).
taken from tszone's old webdisk before it was
hacked(?) but I haven't found this posted anywhere
else since even though its somewhat well known.
Xiang Shuai Chuan Qi..............An RPG using the Dragon Quest 8 engine supposedly
published by SNT, but performs and looks nothing like
their earlier publications. Acts very weird in most
emulators but mostly playable in VirtuaNESex
Zhen Tian Shi Yong Shi............Chinese hack of Sanada Juu Yuushi, dumped by byemu

Also included are several Waixing/Nice Code VT03 games ripped from an unknown multigame
by byemu, as well as a ton of encrypted(?) WXN images from the same guy. Judging from
his blog, theres decryption work being done with some of these and a few might be of
interest judging from the filenames. See also: http://hi.baidu.com/byemu/home
here's the link http://www.megaupload.com/?d=395FHB43
megaupload doesn't exists, can you please upload it on mediafire

Good job! BTW, will you share the ROM?

Also, i'm thinking about finding someone who could dump my DreamGear arcade machine, it contains more undumped games. Dumper must be in Montreal, though.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xNa1u-rk8o

If you want Polk so bad, you can find the first line of data in the ROM "Pinball (Ch) (Wxn).nes". I tried to rip the game but like I said, the file is different, and the graphics don't look even remotely correct when put on the data of any other Nice Code ROM.
the first Vertical line or the first horizonal line in the hex editor?

or where else?
GUYS VERY GOOD NEWS, I FINALLY RIPPED THE POLK GAME YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS   :)  :D    cool:

It's the second one, but with a slightly different design. I found Intellivision Baseball on it.
BTW, i think you should change this topic's name since now it's more about other Nice Code ports.
i guess i could, since i am not looking just for polk, but also for:

first defender (a port of space armada)

baseball new (a port of intellivision baseball)

well, these 2 other games, are topic urgent to search

When i think about it, i think i might have some pretty unknown Nice Code games in my possession, including Intellivision ports. Unfortunately, they are on an undumped DreamGear arcade machine...
do you mean that one:http://step2ddr.com/images/DGUN-2593-Retro-Arcade-Machine-X_PK_OPEN_L

or that one:https://target.scene7.com/is/image/Target/51963087?wid=520&hei=520&fmt=pjpeg

Where'd you find that one? Did that come from the actual Atari Flashback or is that one of the prototype ones? The interesting thing is that game appears to of been hacked as "Ghost Castle", which is in Project BLEB. And if you have the Flashback ROM can you send me a link to it?
no, i don't have te entire libary of all 20 atari flashback games
i only have 7 out of all 20 games, and they are:
breakout
centipede
canyon bomber
saboteur
planet smashers
millipede
and warlords

i have desert falcon too, but it is 257 kilobytes big

if you want them, there you go, but if you just look at my answer, then download these games IMMEDIATLY, because, i will remove the downloads

I'm probably lost, but if you are saying:

"Would you like to have Atari 2600" games, then my answer is no.
First, I don't have an Atari, only a shitty chinese clone of it.
Second, I haven't plugged that in about 4 years, and I doubt it is still working.
Third, I have little to no interests in Atari games. : P

By the way... when I first read the topic title I though that somebody is making a NES port of Plok. :P
That would have been awesome.

Tough if somebody likes to help me expanding a list that would be helpful (Yeah... stick to the topic's original purpose. :P )

We all know that the Famicom has an expansion port for light gun, Famicom Keyboard, a lot of goodies.
Here is the thing: a lot of early Hudson developed games and almost all american / british developed games won't work on these expansion controllers, since there is no code that points to read from this "outside" region.
So in real, if you want to play these games via modified 4Score with an SNK 15 pin output or a Hudson Controller which has turbo feature, they will not work.
I'm currently testing these games with Nintendulator.
If anybody can give me more titles (licenesed or not licensed games) that would I would be glad about it.
This is why I have my own ROM archive where I fix these games to read from this region.

And to be stick to the topic: I doubt the game that needs single cart extraction, or any of those chinese games work on the expansion controller.
You don't want something like this, you know what: NOT A PROBLEM

polk is a nes port of pinball on the intellivision >_>

I'll take Desert Falcon and Saboteur, please.
can i give you only saboteur? because desert falcon is more than 200 kilobites  :(
but anyways, here is saboteur, the rarest game on the atari 2600 (maybe?) now for the NES
just for you  :)
