You haven't taken over shit, so stop pretending you did.

The only place to find a proper update is the Lost in Bygone Gaming blog, where I will post an update whenever I have one ready.
hey! i just continued to collect the roms, so you don't have to do the rest!

No, a VT02 port is not possible at all. UM6578 uses 4 bits per color, just like VT03. VT02 is like a regular NES, just 2 bits per color. UM6578 just does not look as good as VT03 because the master palette is still the same 52 colors as NES. A UM6578 to VT02 port is completely impossible.
only partially topic based, but:
hey newrisingsun, i just wanted to let you know, that i took over the Project pnp series. here is the update section i made!

Pirated Game Reviews / most honest gzii games review
« on: November 05, 2023, 04:44:38 PM »
Hello friends of unlicensed gaming,

i will review every single Gamezone 2 exclusive Game. I won't call them ports for accuracy reasons. without further questions, lets begin:
Scramble - HOLY MOLY! THIS PORT IS SO FANTASTIC, I CANNOT CONTINUE TALKING! 5 Bombed Bases out of 5!
Missile Command - Also an very welcome addition to the NES! It replicates the Arcade game very good, and it is funny how the turret system is actually configured to the NES Button Layout. (Two action buttons, therefore 2 Turrets). and even if it just lasts 5 stages, the replay value is still infinite, due to an randomizer, rather than a pattern for enemy missiles. 5 enemy Airplanes out of 5.
Asteroids - now, this game is known to receive severe hate. That is because it is not accurate, whis is in my opinion VERY GOOD! it is the new unique asteroids game MADE BY BEST LONG ELECTRON ;D! 4 uniqueness medals out of 5
Frogger - Looks okay, yet the catch is in the intentional shortness. only two frogs per level. okay port after all. 3 crocodiles as platforms out of 5
Moon Cresta - noz good, because the controls lock up often, and the game by itself is not spectacular. 2 "try it now"s out of 5

and this wraps up my review.

Scramble is a 97k ROM (32k prg/ 64k chr) on god knows what mapper, so I couldn't easily get that one to work.
true, because if i play the multicart rom in the fceux emulator, it got some graphic issues.

UPDATE: i ripped the scramble rom with success.
it is 193kb big (in windows size) and it may not run on mapper 0 but it does run on mapper 4 without problems, except this graphic issue.

The ROM is heavily encrypted for whatever reason; it's effectively a combination between how the NX-85 and the Pac-Man Pocket Player are coded, both of which had unique forms of protection. Here is a decoded copy, created using the EEPROM Pin Swapper (swapping bytes D0 and D1) and the byte-swapping Python code used for the Pocket Player. I haven't tested it fully yet but it seems to work fine.
thank you for this job, pal!
now we can extract these exclusive games and we're FINISHED!

Now I'd say that Nintendoulator-NRS would be ideal to have as an option for multiple systems alongside FCEUX port. But if I'm thinking of it realistically, the differences are only niche, like most people don't want to play VTxx/VTxxx games because the NES/Famicom variations are widely accepted as superior.
yeah, an exclusive libretro core for vt369 games would be pretty neat!
