Awesome as usual. There's got to be a literally unlimited number of NES multicart variants out there, because this is a lot

I remember asking before about some tool that converts from bootleg mapper to common one, but from what I've heard it has to be done manually & with expertise in ROM hacking

I don't know what mapper is used by Donkey Kong Country 4 from Hummer Team, but from what I recall, it was not a common mapper.

I'm interested in mapper conversions, as it can make the ROMs more accessible, such as Virtual Console imports, so converting to a common mapper is definitely appreciated. Thank you!

Good to know, thank you. VTxx stuff is complex isnt it.

Now I'd say that Nintendoulator-NRS would be ideal to have as an option for multiple systems alongside FCEUX port. But if I'm thinking of it realistically, the differences are only niche, like most people don't want to play VTxx/VTxxx games because the NES/Famicom variations are widely accepted as superior.

Porting UM6578 to VT03 (not VT02) involves reprogramming large parts of the game and can only be done with source code or weeks of hacking. Although superficially similar in terms of capabilities, UM6578 and VT03 are very different "under the hood".

I didn't ask about a VT03 variation. Star Ally already has an existing VT03 variation. I was wondering about VT02 in particular.

Third here, also love them. I'm definitely grateful for Nintendoulator-NRS, but perhaps rather than expect others to add the VTxx to their emulators (let alone in general) the solution might be to port Nintendoulator across several platforms. So like they did with FCEUX, but instead for Nintendulator. A real shame that having the ability to make this a reality is very niche.

Famicom/NES dumps / UM5678 to VT02 (aka NES)?

Hello, bggamers! It's been a while since I've posted here. I wanted to ask something, is there a way to convert UM5678 games to use a standard NES mapper? See, I've seen a collection of NES 2.0 roms on archive.org (Google is your friend) and I noticed a few mapper hacks under the "compatibility hacks" folder of one of the files.

I noticed NewRisingSun (a user here)'s name next to a few compatibility hacks, tried to research to see if there was any information on this. Unfortunately, I could not find any information.

So to get back on top, I've embedded a UM5678 version of the Star Ally game (one of my favorites from Jungletac, prob bcuz it's lowkey addictive space shooter in vein of Gun Nac), which I found in Project Plug 'n' Play. Seeing as the similar game Aero Fighter has a VT02 variation, I was wondering if anyone has the ability to convert the Star Ally UM5678 variation to VT02. Thank you!

Game Boy / Deep Storm
« on: November 15, 2018, 04:51:51 PM »
Hi, there's a game called "Deep Storm", which was released on consoles such as the VG Pocket Caplet and Lexibook Zeus. It was also released on the zone 60, which has been dumped this year. It is one of those Jungletac GBA games, however for some reason it's not thrown in with the other 32 of them on any PSP clone, like the Ritmix RZX-50 or the PAP K-III.

If possible, can someone extract it (and perhaps the other GBA games in case they're different)? The Zone 60 can be found here: http://www.planetemu.net/rom/mame-roms/zone60 . It does run on Sunplus hardware however, which is another story... But the extra mini-games--I'm certain they're GBA-related. Thanks.
