Famicom/NES / Trouble Emulating Dumps

Most of the NES game cartridges contains not only memory chips. They also have something like memory controllers and some other stuff. This happens because NES console can deal only with small chunk of data on the cart. So if game developers want to use more data - they should put extra hardware in the cart that will show memory from the cart to the console by small chunks of data. This is pretty basic explanation. So to emulate certain game - emulator have to emulate nes hardware + extra cartridge hardware. Usually code that emulates extra cartridge hardware called mapper. So if you get messages like "mapper unsupported" - this means that you need more recent emulator with wider library of supported mappers. Last official VirtuaNES release was like in 2007. So it's pretty outdated. From that time there was a lot of carts discovered with unique unseen architecture. (this is not exactly like this, but we keep things simple)
So i recommend you to use chinese mod for Nestopia called Nestopia Plus. The last revision of Nestopia Plus that available for public is "Nestopia Plus! 1.4.0.9 R230". Just google for it. Despite being 1 or 2 years old this emulator have the most wide variate of supported mappers. It also have big build-in cartridge database that can fix incorrect headers for some roms. It also supports exotic chinese dumps where prg rom splited into several parts. (Don't exactly sure on that prg thing, but this is how it was explained to me). Basically that outdated Nestopia Plus is the the best way to deal with obscure dumps. You can just trow any dump with bad header, crazy dump with splited prg rom and it will most certainly work in Nestopia plus.
The last revision of that emulator is like R314 or something, but good luck finding it.

Also, CaH4e3 is one of the fceux developers. If this game requires new mapper or modification in previously existing mapper code - it can took sometime, before this game starts working on any decent emulators. If you send cart to CaH4e3, then game starts working at the same time as dump released. At least in fceux and fceumm
