Famicom/NES / DreamGEAR's MyArcade- 200 in 1 Famiclone

I wasn't expecting this topic to get a reply, but thanks!

And yeah, I noticed that holding A+B boots while starting up booted it into a test mode of sorts.

If only I could rig this thing to play ROMS off of an SD Card and swap the A and B buttons to match the general NES button scheme (where B is on the left and A on the right). That way I could play all these different games and not stick with Nice Code Software's shovelware or their attempts at stealing hacks published online, as they did with Blob Buster.

Well, I somehow got this thing in my possession for Christmas.

It's a Famiclone, as I could instantly tell from the game's packaging. I was told that it contains many games from Nice Code Software alongside some pirate hacks of licensed NES games.

I'll list each game one by one, along with what game they were hacked form, unless they're original.
(Some of them I noted were also in Jontron's "Plug and Play Consoles" video, but as reskins with less color)
Most of the games that aren't originals are 61 through 110, and there's some of Nice Code's Intellivision stuff sprinkled in as well.

Famicom/NES / Any NES bootlegs you "swear you saw!" once?
« on: August 13, 2015, 12:20:23 PM »
I remember seeing a Famiclone in a mall that had Super Shrek Bros. running on it once, plus it had the Pocket Monsters game. Though since they're both dumped i'm not sure that'd count.

Thanks. It was certainly worth it.
Hopefully one day we'll see one for Shui Hu.

Thanks. I noticed that the boss' (and pig mutation) palettes are all shared with palettes of existing Beasts, so I could just rip the sprites from YY-CHR and use the existing color palettes to give the correct colors to the bosses, with that old walkthrough that was made long long ago to serve as a guide.

I assume this is also the case with the bosses from Shui Hu as well, since that blue palette that the intentionally OP dragon boss has is shared with a few Beasts from that game.

EDIT: I made the Boss beats sheet.

Fergzilla // Maybe. I can make the file standalone, with pictures.

Superjustinbros // Well, where are uncapturable bosses and pig mutation sprites? They're missing.[/quote]The Pig transformation and boss Beasts would require one to play through the game to see them, and I'm not exactly in the swing to do another play of SKXS just for seven sprites.

If I had screens of them in their proper colors (i.e. no filters to dim the colors or blur the image), I'd be happy to add them to the sheet.

I mostly picked those names since they sounded better to me, IMO.

Also successfully screen capped every Beast that is in the "Dex" in SKXS; will put it on The Spriters' Resource soon!

(If there were any saves of SHSS with a  complete Dex, I could do that game as well)

EDIT: Here's the sheet! http://www.spriters-resource.com/game_boy_gbc/shikongxing/sheet/68335/

Good to see this topic still active even after all this time.
Perhaps I can use that save state and make a full sprite rip of the SKXS capturable beasts in full glorious color.

Also since it's relevant, I might as well post this.

It looks like garbage, I know.
It's meant to be styled like the faceset icons form the "Five Nights at F***boy's games.

Thanks a million for the translations, fergzilla.

1993-1999 / Feng Shen Bang Discussion and Assistance
« on: March 07, 2015, 03:49:22 PM »
A long time ago I tried playing C&E's rather splendid RPG Feng Shen Bang with the intention of fully completing it. Today I decided to get back into it after looking at results of "封神榜 FC" on Google, even discovering there was a guidebook of the game published at one point.

Mostly though I'm wondering if anyone could help me with this one part of the game. It's sometime after the third party member (I believe he;s named Yang Jian) leaves your party a bit after falling ill for "insert reason here", leaving you with just Na Zha and the girl you picked up after the first chapter.

In this part of the game there's a cave,... with a passageway that is blocked off by a treasure chest that will not go away.

The surrounding paths are blocked off for several other reasons:
*The path directly adjacent to this cave has these two trees that dance in place and force Na Zha back two tiles if he enters their sight.
*The small boat that you can set sail on from a lakeside town cannot go through the rivers, which means you cannot reach the house of the fourth and final party member.
*In the middle of the lake is a shrine that is completely blocked off by giant lily pads.

Pirated Work / Super Boy Converted into NES!

Actually I was referring to their color, not their appearance. Which wouldn't really hurt anything. Besides you could change the palette of the underground enemies so they match the color.

Pirated Work / Super Boy II in Mari0
« on: December 25, 2014, 01:40:53 PM »
Sometime back in Summer 2013 I made a remake of Super Boy II in the PC game "Mari0", which is a fusion of SMB1's gameplay with the Portal series' portal mechanics.

Thank you.
A few other notes:

*In the original, breaking blocks shows brick debris ala SMB1.
*You could do something with the Brown/Peach color palette used by Goombas/Beetles.
*The sideways pipes are still the same as original SMB1.
*The underground palette could be made a bit more blue so it's more accurate to the original.

Not a bad effort. However I'd suggest fixing the dithering in these blocks so they look like this:
