1993-1999 / Re: Mario World NES/Tagin' Dragon Music?
« on: September 27, 2022, 10:18:29 PM »
Hummer Cheng worked for Sachen for a while. Must say, that track slipped past me as not being from the original game since it had been a while since I played it when I was playing the bootleg version. It sounds "vaguely Mario-ish" enough that I was just like "yeah, that's what the ending music to Super Mario World was, right?"

1993-1999 / Re: Titenic reuses sounds from Aladdin?

Hummer Team games are full of reused sound effects. Aladdin uses the Somari ring sound as its pickup sound for everything. Actually, I'm pretty sure the jump sound in Titenic is the Yoshi sound from Super Mario World as well!  ;D

I believe people have gotten confused about My Heart Will Go On because of Titenic and Harry's Legend. The original release of Titenic had arrangements of music from the Titanic movie, including My Heart Will Go On prominently as the level theme. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmrN1uf3MWk When the game was being converted into Harry's Legend, the music was replaced with less recognizable tracks, which is the version found on Super New Year 15-in-1. The cutscene theme from that version of the game is a remix of the MK3 tune heard here. It has nothing to do with My Heart Will Go On, but because of the confusing nature of Titenic where people had heard that it "contained an arrangement of My Heart Will Go On" while playing a version that didn't actually have it, attached it to the closet thing they could find.

I'm imagining probably not, because of how murky information on this sort of publishing is. But here's the cartridge I recently received. Does it look like an older one? The label is the same as the cartridge shown on the wiki but the casing is different.

It's such a classic meme game, and as a huge Mario and Sonic fan it feels like something I have to own.

kmg maybe I'm stupid but it doesn't seem to be in any of the MAME sets I've found from the version in the video and on. The closest I've come is https://mame.spludlow.co.uk/Software.aspx?list=nes&soft=mc_3cb3x which is just a listing of the games, no downlaods.

Famicom/NES / 3-in-1 with Titenic allegedly found according to TCRF
« on: April 27, 2022, 12:03:30 AM »
Heya.

Apparently there's a rare 3 in 1 that contains a version of Titenic that is significantly different to the one from the Super New Year 15-in-1 (or the "completed" rom that was built from it), according to one paragraph on the TCRF article about Titenic:

"Contrary to initial belief, Titenic was fully finished and released - unaltered - on a "Super Cool Boy" 3-in-1 multicart by ABAB Soft; however, this cartridge is extremely rare. The cartridge's ID is unknown, and was thought to have been unreleased; however, it was properly documented and dumped online some time in late 2021."

According to TCRF, further, the 15-in-1 version "replaces the "My Heart Will Go On" rendition with the generic Harry's Legend music; likely in attempt to hide the Titanic theme of the game entirely."

Naturally, I came right here. The only "Super Cool Boy 3-in-1" I found in my brief searching is the one in this thread http://bootleg.games/BGC_Forum/index.php?topic=2914.msg21756#msg21756 which contains "Street Fighter 60P" "Cross Fire" and "Revolution". FCEUX won't actually load any of the games so, is one of those Titenic? Or is TCRF lying?
