Mega Drive/Genesis / Link Dragon sound fix?
« on: November 18, 2013, 07:03:37 PM »
Pretty much what the title says.  All the roms of Link Dragon out there don't have any sound.  Apparently the original game has really cool music.  Anyone have a fixed version of the rom with the sound intact?

Anyone know if the pirate 3 in 1 game is compatible with any guns other than the Justifier? Cheers.

Mega Drive/Genesis dumps / A Bug's Life jump fix
« on: December 10, 2012, 06:40:17 PM »
Tony H made a cool high jump GG code for A Bug's Life.  I hacked it into the rom and it makes the game totally playable without any side-effects.  The jump animation is a little messed up, but it's not a huge deal.  I play tested the game and beat the whole thing (it's only 5 levels).  To execute the high jump you have to jump from a standing still point.  If you jump while running/walking he'll do a regular long jump with not too much altitude.

Mega Drive/Genesis / Chinese Fighter (III)

This is the one I'm wondering about:

I know Glorysun did the Lord of the Rings hack of it, but who made this "original"?

Mega Drive/Genesis / Magic Girl
« on: May 09, 2012, 10:18:55 AM »
Anyone know if the rom for Magic Girl that's floating around out there (ie: in GoodGen 3) works on real hardware, or does it have some sort of copy protection?  I don't have an Everdrive yet, so I can't test it myself.  Thanks in advance.

Mega Drive/Genesis / Link Dragon
« on: May 08, 2012, 12:32:25 PM »
None of the roms for Link Dragon that I've tried seem to have sound.  Although there is a sound test option in the menu, however the entire game seems to be silent... Does anyone have a version of this rom that plays actual sounds, does the original cart?  Or is this game just broken/unfinished?

So, a lot of the pirate games are complete unfixable/unplayabe crap.  But then there are some games out there that are so close to being decent (or even great) that it's almost painful to see them brought down by some small issue.  It seems like quite a few games out there could be fixed with some minor hacking.  Let's see if we can make a list.

Here's a few that I can think of now.

A Bug's Life - Genesis - This game would be alright if the damn jumping/running worked better.  I wonder if it would be possible to write a Game Genie code to apply to the rom or somehow hack the thing to make the jumping better.  Hell, even if you could just make him jump higher this game would be better.

Tiny Toon Adventures 3 - Genesis - This game is basically good, it just really bugs the hell out of me how that rabbit doesn't have any legs in the title screen.  That and the very Engrish intro back story.

X-Men VS Streetfighter - SNES - Iceman flickering out during kicks.  Yeah this game isn't the best, but it's relatively bug free except for that one very noticeable animation glitch.

Hacker Center / Title screen hack of Tiny Toon Adventure 3?
« on: February 03, 2012, 01:33:20 PM »
Would it be possible to hack Tiny Toon Adventure 3 to change the title screen so that the rabbit has some fucking legs?  I don't know much about rom hacking, but lame ass Russian pirates seem to crank out title screen hacks like it's going out of style, so I assume it can't be too difficult.

Any info on this would be much appreciated.

Mega Drive/Genesis / Barver Battle Saga save state
« on: November 08, 2011, 10:53:40 PM »
Would anyone be willing to upload a save state file from Barver Battle Saga, I want to grab some screen shots of the game, but taking pics of my tv sucks and I really don't feel like playing through the whole game again.  I just want some nice pics of the cool summons spells and battles and stuff.

Thanks in advance.

I've only ever seen this one video of it.  Does anyone know anything about this game, or have a ROM of it?

Mega Drive/Genesis / Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
« on: August 17, 2011, 11:29:26 PM »
Apparently it's an action/adventure game (as opposed to the other LOTR pirate game Return of the King).  There seems to be no info about this game online. Does anyone know anything about this Two Towers pirate?  Screenshots, videos, anything?

1984-1992 / Is Somari beatable?
« on: August 16, 2011, 04:56:15 PM »
I've spent some serious time playing Somari and it doesn't seem like you can beat Labyrinth Zone.  I eventually got to a part where you're underwater and have to jump up on a platform but there's no way to jump that high, and there's nowhere else to go... So I ask, has anyone beaten Somari? Or seen someone else do it?

Mega Drive/Genesis / Printable covers for pirate games!
« on: August 11, 2011, 10:34:37 AM »
My first post!  Figure, I should share these here.

The covers are formatted for standard Sega clamshells and Universal Game Cases (UGC).  They're saved at either 250 or 300 dpi, so they're ready to print.  All you need is a good printer, and some nice paper.

Unlicensed/Pirate Games

Note: Most of the unlicensed games of Chinese/Taiwanese origin have trouble running on real hardware so beware before you get a repro of any them.  Most of the roms of these games however have an [f1] version available which is fixed to run on real hardware.  Always use that version.  Ideally though, if you can, try to test them on a flashcart if you or a friend have one.  All of these games have a fixed version of the roms, so they're good to go for real hardware.

I also have covers for unreleased games, rom hacks, translations, etc... but I'm not sure if it's appropriate to put em here.  They're in my sig if you want them.
