Other Pirates / Dragon Bowl
« on: January 17, 2013, 12:46:24 AM »
Has anyone else ever heard of this? I just played it to rip some of the poorly-drawn sprites.
Apparently, It's a piss-poor Ninja Gaiden hack. Here's a video.

As it says on TVtropes, "It is notable for atrocious music, sound effects stolen from various sources (most notably Street Fighter II), graphics that look like they were drawn by retarded children, game breaking bugs that weren't in the original game and broken hit detection. It is pathetic when put up against the game it rips off, never mind other brawlers released the same year."

The Big Old Arcade / Limbo of the Lost
« on: December 29, 2012, 01:57:35 PM »
So yesterday I was at a flea market, and I came across a big table of games (no pirates, sadly) but the guy only wanted 3 bucks for a boxed copy of Psychonauts, and I couldn't pass him up on that offer. As I was leaving, I spotted Limbo of the Lost sitting off on a far corner of the table. I asked about it, and the guy behind the table just told me "Oh, that one? It's shit. Just take it." and keep in mind, this guy could come up with a decent defense for just about anything (Sonic R, Bloodwings: Pumpkinhead's Revenge, Tow Truck Simulator, Big Rigs) However, I already had Sonic R, Bloodwings, and Big Rigs, so I just accepted Limbo of the Lost.

I took it (free games!) despite knowing what I was in for. You see, I'd read about it on TVTropes before. After playing it for a bit, I can confirm that it's just as horrible as you'd been led to believe. Ever wanted to play a generic fantasy RPG where all the backgrounds are screenshots from other games, the dialogue was mostly done by the same person, and there's pixel hunting galore? And that's not even a full list of the ways this game fails!

You know what I'd like to see? A Waixing/Nanjing RPG based on this game. I wonder if they could actually manage to make it even worse?

Discussion Center / Collaborator Wanted
« on: October 27, 2012, 08:01:03 PM »
About a month ago, I made a 3-part video with RayofLightning. it went Something Like This.

Anyways, I was thinking of making another one in the same style. Problem is, if I do it with Ray again, I fear that he may have to be shipped off to the loony bin. So I was wondering if anyone here would be willing to collaborate with me?

You will win a baked bean (425 to collect)

Pirate Talk / Best/Worst Bootleg Consoles?
« on: October 11, 2012, 09:53:00 PM »
What do you think the best and worst bootleg consoles are?

Here's mine:

-=Best=-
Vii - Sunplus 16-bit processor and functional motion controls, combined with some pretty good games. Way more than you can say for many other bootleg systems.
Game King - Really good sound and gameplay, and a pretty good proprietary format.

-=Worst=-
PopStation and clones - Downright abysmal games, high-pitched and chirpy electronic beeps and blips for sound, and totally unreliable hardware that requires the unrestrained use of excessive force in order to make it work properly.

I think that this product doesn't know what it wants to rip off, so it did a little bit of everything.

They stole the PSVita design and gave you some Wiimotes to control it. That's genius.
Why bring it up here? Take a look at the included games.

Wonderful Wide Web / PC ports of Vii games?!

If you go to This Website, and take a look at the games section, I think what you find may be most interesting.

Other Pirates / Game King
« on: January 31, 2012, 08:44:59 PM »
If the Gamate qualifies as a pirate, Methinks this should qualify too. I recently bought one of these (from here, for those wondering) and it should be showing up in the mail soon. It also ships with a 4-in-1 multicart as well as the 3 built in games. Now I'm looking for a place where I can buy the cartridge games. More info when it comes.

Bootleg Bazaar / WTB: Defender MX-15

http://www.sharky-game.ru/console/7/#2

Since I can't seem to find a place that ships it to the USA, It would be most appreciated if someone in an area it DOES ship to would buy one and send it to me (or just send it to me if you already own one). I'm willing to pay up to $60 depending on the price you paid for it.

I have an unhealthy obsession with Jungletac, but doesn't everyone on this forum have an unhealthy obsession with at least ONE pirate company?

Pirated Work / Turbo Supreme 12in1 Multi Game
« on: January 07, 2012, 12:07:51 AM »
So, What is this crazy project I hear you ask? Well, It's a sort of PC multicart (even though it's not on a cart) containing 12 (number may vary) games that are reminiscent of those crazy X-in-1s. The games mostly run under pseudo 16-bit architecture, although some use famicom graphics and sound.

List of games so far and brief descriptions:

-Juяassic Park*: Remake (more or less) of the inventor pirate, uses music from Cheetahmen's NSF remake
-F22 Thunderbolt Fighter**: Scrolling Shooter, similar to Inventor's F22
-Aether Invader**: Shooter in the style of Action 52's Star Evil
-Man in Red**: Run-and-Gun game, graphics stolen from Man in Red and Burbles by Nice Code
-Space Shuttle Exploration**: Space Shooter Named after the ABAB game.
-Panda Adventure**: Almost a straight-up port of the ABAB game
-Happy Biqi IV: Platformer starring the main character from Happy Biqi reminiscent of Ooze from Action 52
-Orchard Kavass 2**: Remake of Orchard Kavass
-Illuminator**: remake of Illuminator from Action 52
-Bomber Man: Bomberman clone (based off Nanjing's blatant franchise thievery and Nice Code's Bomberman 2002)
-Primitive: Adventure Island clone starring that caveman from Primitive
-Wonder Rabbit II: Remake of Wonder Rabbit
*=WIP
**=finished

The programming is being done with Game Maker 7.0, which I have 4 years experience with. Also, if anyone wants to submit games, be my guest.
 :somari:

P.S. I know I have a bad habit of talking up vaporware, but I'll make sure that doesn't happen for this project.

Pirated Work / Lightning Plan's Music
« on: December 11, 2011, 11:39:55 PM »
This has been driving me crazy for quite a while now. I've been trying to get a clean rip of Lightning Plan's music for over a year now. If someone can recognize it (maybe it's stolen?) they could tell me what the real name is?

I've tried to record it off my Zone 60 a couple of times, but the recordings I made through the stereo's headphone jack sounded really wobbly and crappy, and the ones I made off the Easycap 2.0 were too loud and crackly. Maybe someone can fix my recordings or tell me how to record it properly? The failed recordings, for those interested.

Please Help!

Discussion Center / Youtube's new design
« on: December 01, 2011, 09:57:11 PM »
:angry2:
Okay, what the YONG YONG is this? Youtube tried to reinvent the wheel again but ended up created a completely dull and cluttered mess (again!)! While they did improve a few things, like the analytics screen, everything else is worse. They added a fuzzy grey background that just looks like what happens when you turn on a TV that isn't tuned, They cluttered up the channel design (even worse than it already was) and a lot more crap that didn't need to happen.

My point is that once everyone had gotten used to the beta homepage and channel design, BLAM! Point blank blast in the face with the YONG YONG cannon.

Well done, Youtube (sarcasm)
