For the uninitiated, the TV Boy is a series of plug n play controllers which contain 127 Atari 2600 games of variable quality. It's actually the first plug n play TV game device that I'm aware of, supposedly being released as early as 1992 from what I've read. I've been curious about all of the different versions of the TV Boy in existence, as there seem to be more variations than I'd previously anticipated. Here's the ones I know of:

TV Boy (Europe) - Original big oval design, the one I've seen has a controller port the others lack but I've never seen a second controller for it to connect to
TV Boy (NICS Japanese NTSC version) - Different selection of games, different decal on the unit itself. Box claims to have 126 games but the series of videos I saw actually showed 127
TV Boy II - Update to the original, supposedly replaces a few games (I don't have the original so I can't check that) and appears to swap the positions of the reset and select buttons
Super TV Boy - Different design, has controller separated from the rest of the system
Super TV Boy (alternate) - Different controller design seemingly based on the original Playstation controller, has the hardware built-in to it

(I remember there also existing a US NTSC version, though I could be wrong)

The Wikipedia page also claims that one version of the unit removes Defender (Game 91) and doesn't replace it with anything. However, the TV Boy II I own includes the game and the alternate Super TV Boy replaces it with Ski Hunt, but the other 126 games are the same. It's possible that such a unit exists and I haven't seen it in action, but I do remember seeing a video that refers to the game as a test program despite it working normally.

Maxzhou88 recently posted pages about Famicom ports of Angry Birds and Plants Vs Zombies. I've never played the original games (expects to hit with several projectiles for saying that) but the games seem to be direct ports of the originals. Well, apart from the second game on the former page which is obviously a hack of The New Zealand Story.

The lack of coverage on the internet suggests that it was developed by pirates, but I can't tell who from the screenshots.

Out of boredom, I decided to compile a small list (very incomplete, but I'm sure other people can think of the stuff I missed) of games that fall into the topic name.

One thing I wonder is if this sort of thing is legal. I assume it would be as long as they're chiptune versions of the songs (and not a PCM sample like Action 52's intro); I certainly don't remember any companies getting in trouble for this sort of thing.

I have compiled all of the MMC3 conversions I could find. I found a few on this site and most of the others are taken from multicarts. I added the copyright info to all of the games that didn't have it already, although I couldn't manage it for RoboCop 2 so I omitted it from the pack. (Mind you, the game sucks anyway )

I was looking through Kamming's posts and I noticed that among the sets of NES/Famicom ROM dumps was a file called "7-in-1 (NS03).unf". It was posted in a ROM set that was deleted and to my knowledge, it's nowhere else to be found. Does anyone on here have the ROM? :\

I figured I might as well try to sell my PVP Stations as there's no point in me keeping them. The first one is a Famiclone system, the other is a Mega Drive clone. Worth pointing out the following things about these clones, so I don't get lynched afterwards:

PVP Station
- Typical Famiclone sound emulation
- Plays at PAL speed
- Somewhat incorrect colours
- A and B buttons are switched
- 35 games built-in, multicart doesn't seem to work (might work with a OneStation, but I don't have one to test that)

PVP Station 2
- Poor sound emulation
- Sonic the Hedgehog plays at PAL speed
- EA's intro screen is glitchy
- 10 games built-in, 15 on the multicart

Yeah, I think you can see why I want to get rid of them. Also worth pointing out that these things use a lithium-ion battery which comes with a recharger. Also note that the first PVP's recharger is in the UK format while the other one uses two prongs (I'm guessing American, but I might be wrong). Both have AV cables, as well as mono sound. There's also a tiny manual, although the one that comes with the second one is in a foreign language I don't recognise. (Scandinavian one, as far as I can tell)

The asking price is £3 plus shipping or you could trade one of the following:

- Bubble Bobble Collection (PS1, PAL format)
- R-4: Ridge Racer Type 4 (PS1, PAL format)
- A SNES game (PAL format)
- A Famicom multicart
- A Game Gear game

Of course, that list doesn't apply to games I already own.

Because I'm a doofus who can't come up with his own ideas, I figured I might as well take one that I've seen on several other boards. Self-explanatory really, just name (and maybe post a link to) whatever you're listening to.
