Well, as the topic title states, I'm about to get my hands a little dirty with some ROM dumping because I, like many of you, have actually started to look for and buy these wonderful trainwrecks.

As such, I've sent off for a GB Transferer II from Taiwan to get myself started and it should be here in a couple of weeks or so. But till then, I have to ask, are there any tips any of you could give me? I'm not as up on all this Hex editing stuff and similar such things as you are, I'm something of a layman, you might've noticed. xD

Honestly, I don't think this would fit the guidelines of the Pirated Game Reviews section so I'm posting it here instead. If it's better off there then by all means go ahead and move it, oh mods and admin blokes, and I'm sorry in advance for the mistake.

Anyways, as you see above, this is a double feature of both Harry Potter and Harry Potter 3 for the GBC. This came about after several years of urging from old friends and new friends alike to leap back into the reviewing saddle, if it could be called that. But yes, once even SpaceNinja pitched in and kept egging me on to make at least one more vid, I figured I'd indulge everyone and give it a bash.

Two days of hard, frustrating work later, I figured out a way to do it. A method, complete with rules.

- 10 minutes to each recording.
- Run out of lives? End the recording.
- Narrate live, it prevents hesitation.

In short, as Space put it to me, I'm lazy.

Anyways, tell me all what you think and I hope this entertains you all.
Also, suggestions are moooore then welcome.

Well, seeing as how I actually put up the topic anyway, instead of letting it waste space in the forum, I think it'll be a good idea to change it's name and use it to put up each video, now dubbed a 'riff' over a review.

So yes, this time I took a bash at a couple of Zelda pirates, mostly to just mess with a friend who's an absolute fan. Not much more to say that the video can't say for itself. Except that I tried something new this time and tried cutting out the dead air. I don't think I'll be doing that too much in the future though. It was a little tedious and I might've gone a bit overboard. But give me some thoughts if you have 'em.

Very similar to another thread I've seen, but instead of Facebook (which alot of you, very understandably, don't use), how about a group on Steam? I'm pretty sure, due to us being the pirate gaming geeks that we are, that this isn't entirely out of the question.

The idea is simple enough. What with all the bad graphics and ear-splitting music, something out there in the Unlicensed World must've given you the creeps, at the very least.

For me, it's the Game Over screen in Aladdin 2, made by my arch-enemy Waixing before they became Waixing, this steaming turd, nooo, steaming melting turd of a game is a prime example of badly redrawn graphics and maddening beepy music. But when this Game Over screen came up, it was like a punch to the gut -- the soul gut. It was unexpected and kept me still for a few moments, it was...troubling and had staying power.  O_o

I named him Lord JaFuq!   :yay:

Hey there all, RayOfLightning here.

There's not much to say about myself really except that I've been lurking around for awhile, about a month or two when my interest in unlicensed gaming peaked again (I've been into it since about 2008).

I can't really contribute too much, I haven't got a lot of money so I can't buy actual cartridges and the like. Hell, I can't even afford the actual consoles, don't even have the space. I'm not exactly a master hacker either. I'm just here so that when a new dump comes up I can actually say thank you, share my thoughts and maybe post a video, who knows?

So yeah, that's pretty much all you need to know about me off the bat, it's good to be here. :somari:
