Bootleg Bazaar / FS: Famiclone Games (7/31/2020)
« on: July 30, 2020, 02:34:09 PM »
Hello, and welcome to my shop!  I try to list things as accurately as I can, but with so many items sitting around my house, it's easy to miss something along the way. So please ask questions if you have any.  Also, as a lot of these items are not common to find, it is hard for me to price them.  As such I am willing to consider offers should you be interested in some items, but feel the price is too much.  Trades can also be considered.

Shipping of 1 - 2 carts is about $5, worldwide.

Indie Games / Homebrews / Obscurities:

Peave, Love, Trippy Club - $50

This is a brand-new indie game for the Famicom. Basically you're stuck in a hellish trippy club and need to escape. The stages get weirder and weirder as you go along. Initially you're in flashing lights, but then the club suddenly turns into a beach party where you're fighting dick canons and birds, in the sand. You even end up travelling into hell, all the while girls make suggestive passes at you. You're even collecting Mary Jane in one of the later stages.

Dragon Boat Festival - $30

Brand new (three-stage) game designed for the Dragon Boat Festival back in June. Extremely limited quantities were made, and I've got a few extra to sell on here. This won't ever be available again, as it was designed to commemorate a holiday.

Multicarts:

MC18 - Y2K 64 in 1 (K64008) - Includes hacks of early games such as Ding Dong, Kitty, TMNT, Pokemon, and Toy Story. - $12
MX7 - 130 in 1 - Includes a Robocco Wars title screen hack, a hack containing Pokemon, and other games - $15
MX1 - Super HI-K 4 in 1 (F-657) - Contains the four games shown on the cartridge label - $10
MC19 - Y2K 64 in 1 (K64008) - Includes hacks of early games such as Ding Dong, Kitty, TMNT, Pokemon, and Toy Story. - $12
MC20 - 132 in 1 - Newer release cart, will only work in modern clone machines. Contains a variety of games such as Contra, Three Eyes Boy, etc. - $10

Discussion Center / Calling on ElkFish
« on: October 19, 2017, 08:02:07 PM »
I am posting the message here, and also sending a PM.  I need an explanation and quick.

On October 3rd, ElkFish sent me a message that he wanted to purchase a game from me, which I had listed on Game Boy.  Here is what his message said:

Quote:

On famicom world you have a listing for an unknown game for $10 under listings for pokemon crystal and pokemon blue. I would like to buy that unknown game.[/quote]

It would be referring to the game in this picture (game on the right):

Spoiler: click to toggle

We exchanged some PMs and then I mailed the game out on October 5th, a Thursday, at lunch time, after testing it to make sure it worked, etc.

Today I wake up and see that Mr. ElkFish himself has opened up a case and complained against me, stating that the item was not as described.  No contact to me first, no messages to my email address (I had even taken a picture of the package before sending it off, and had forwarded the to ElkFish on October 6th after getting his email address), nothing.  Just a Paypal case opened for $15.

If ElkFish truly has a problem with the game not being as described (I'm not sure what the problem would be, the game works, and was the one he requested, and wasn't in shitty condition), then I hope he can send me a message either here or elsewhere so that we can work things out amicably.

Thanks.

1984-1992 / fcgamer copy cart page
« on: June 17, 2017, 02:19:35 PM »
I spent the last few days creating this simple blog; I created this for my own needs (i.e. so when I find bootleg games in the wild, I can quickly compare and see if it is an upgrade to one I already own or not), and also to showcase to some friends and fellow collectors, who have an interest.

https://fcgamercopycart.wordpress.com/

I am not trying to do anything fancy here, and I want the blog to look amateurish, as it fits the theme nicely I think.

As some of you here know, I am trying to collect a "complete" set of bootleg Famicom games, whatever that may mean (there are so many games that most likely were never bootlegged, it is hard to even define this set of games).  If someone wants to trade games that I don't have, I have tons of stuff for sale I would glady trade too.

Enjoy!

Welcome to fcgamer's house of goods for sale.  As a few general rules, payments to be made through Paypal, prices can be set to discount when buying a lot of items, shipping cost for 1 - 2 cartridges is $5.50 worldwide.

Time to reclaim my apartment from this stuff, currently it looks like a used media shop!!!

Questions, please ask.  Thanks!

OTHER:

Summon Night 4 Memory Card - $25

This one looks to be unopened / unused, though I cannot confirm this either.  It is a PS2 Memory card based around Summon Night 4.  There is some tape on the back bottom of the box, not sure if that is supposed to be there or not.

Sega Saturn Pro Action Replay (by Honest) - $25

Spoiler: click to toggle

Honest was a local company to me, they specialized in making game accessories, joypads, etc.  Their most famous product was a 3 in 1 arcade-style joystick, which is now quite difficult to find, so I have to wonder just how popular their products were, as a whole, back in the day.

This one is a pro action replay cheat cartridge for the Sega Saturn.  The box is beat up, also has the manual and bubble wrap.

Golden Finger P.S. Game Blaster - $25

Spoiler: click to toggle

Chinese version cheat device for the Playstation.  It comes boxed, with manual in both English and Chinese.  Manufactured by a company called Shin Hwang.  Box is a bit beat up.

Game King 2 + 2 game cartridges (11 games total) - $30

Spoiler: click to toggle

Spoiler: click to toggle

Here I have another one of those infamous Timetop Game King machines for sale.  As well as the three built-in games, this package also includes two four-in-1 multicarts.  The screen to the unit has some wear but everything works fine, volume also checks, etc.  Nothing wrong that would stop gaming from happening.

Now for the backstory:

In the early 2000s, Game King initially became discovered in the West by some folks on the Digital Press forums.  People became curious about it, since the game carts look quite similar to Game Boy carts, and the games themselves are all clones of popular NES titles.  I like to think of it as NES meets the Atari 2600, haha.

About five years ago I could find Game King products everywhere, as it was marketed more as a child's toy than as a serious video game machine.  When originally sold, each unit had three built in games, as well as one multicart.  Most shops didn't even seem to be selling the additional cartridges, but for those that did, carts were selling for around $5, and machines for around $15 - $20, at the local shops.

Then around 2014, things dried up, I think the stores probably just saw that the market wasn't there anymore, so they just took the machines off the shelves and threw them in the back, or sent them back to the company, or whatever.  Now I never see new Game King products here, which sucks since I also collect this stuff and wished I had a few brand new units in my personal collection.

PVP Pocket 3 - $25

Spoiler: click to toggle

Portable game machine, contains Famicom / NES games built directly into the machine, as well as in the small cartridge that comes with.  The machine works from being plugged in, or with a battery like the one in picture three.  Due to regulations here, I am not allowed to send the battery with the package, but these are the specs you need to get it running.

Sport Feel Tennis Plug n Play - $30

This one is sealed.  It is a plug n play machine from Jungle Tac.  The games on here are original programmed games.  Some of the programmers from this company originally worked at Waixing, known for its NES ports of popular franchises.

Does anyone have a complete list of unlicensed Mega Drive / Genesis games?  Preferable if companies were marked, so that I could nix the crappy modern Russian stuff.

Bootleg Bazaar / FO: Old Taiwanese PC games
« on: April 23, 2016, 10:59:36 AM »
I recently picked the following games up.  I don't have the right equiptment to test this stuff, but from what I can tell.  These games were localized by Soft World, one of the oldest PC developers / publishers on the island:

http://www.mobygames.com/company/soft-world

I could only find one seller selling these games online, and his prices were easily $200 - $300 per game, though they weren't selling, so that makes his listing price irrelevant imo.

Here are some pics (I have one more, Knight's Legend, but somehow I forgot to take pics of it).

Since these games are old and I don't have the stuff to try them out, they are being sold *as is*.  Feel free to make an offer if interested.

The History of the Empires of the Milky Way

This seems to be an original game developed by Soft-World, so I'll probably keep it unless made an offer I can't refuse.

Here is another Taiwan original, made by a company called Crazy Software or something like that.

Like the Milky Way game, I'll probably hold onto ths one too, unless made a nice offer.

Now for the other games:

Might and Magic II:

AD&D:  Secrets of the Silver Blades:

Hong Kong Mahjong:

Bandit Kings:

AD&D:  Knights of Krynn

Three Kingdoms:

Iron Lord:

AD&D:  Champions of Krynn

Anyone have any idea on price for these games?  I don't collect PC games, but I honestly think these are pretty cool and are the type of thing that belongs in a museum.  Also, anyone interested in buying these or know of a PC games collector forum where I could try to sell these?

Thanks!

Bootleg Bazaar / Old Taiwanese Computer Gaming Magazines
« on: November 05, 2015, 03:24:55 AM »
One of my buddies / contacts over here recently hooked me up with a large set of gaming magazines, dating from the late 1980s through the mid 1990s.  This stuff was worthy of being in a library somewhere, imo, as it offers a totally different perspective of what gaming was really like over in Asia (outside of Japan) during the "golden era".  Because I am a nice guy, the price was right, and I also don't want to risk pissing my buddy off, I bought the entire lot of stuff, despite the fact that a small portion of it was computer related (the console games stuff I am keeping for myself).

So I have around 50 different pieces (unless I miscount, it is 53 booklets / magazines) relating to PC gaming during the early 1990s, for the Taiwanese (and sometimes Hong Kong) markets.  These items are incredibly rare, are in excellent condition, and some of the issues seem to be small magazines produced by Softstar (called Softstar Magazine), presumably advertising / reviewing the latest Softstar games (Softstar was a large Taiwanese PC Game Company back in the day).

The problem is, I have no interest in these magazines myself, yet they are of the nature that I am sure someone, somewhere would appreciate them.

Any idea of value?  Any idea where I could market these for sale?  Anyone here interested?

Thanks guys.

P.S.  Everything is in Chinese, of course.

1984-1992 / C&E's Decathalon
« on: September 27, 2015, 03:48:54 AM »
On the BGW's twitter page, it suggests that C&E developed Decathalon exclusively for American Video Entertainment, but then decided to release it themselves after AVE folded.  For many reasons, this does not seem right to me, and as such, I am curious as to where such information had been heard.
On another note, later I will share why I think this is not the case, but first I want to hear how this rumor was started.

1993-1999 / Hummer Team's Donkey Kong Country 4
« on: June 28, 2015, 12:20:12 PM »
Just got a cartridge of Hummer Team's Donkey Kong Country 4.  It is in a normal black JY-style case.  Instead of being JY-033 or whatever the correct number code is, it has printed on it "EL-033".  Also, EL-033 is printed on the pcb so its official, not just a bootleg.

Anyone know why the difference?  I can't get the cartridge to work, sadly, though.
