C'mon, we should all not forget Sintax's hundreds of gba platformers that only now could be played on emulators because of that shitty "YJ" copy protection. On gbc they used their Castlevania thing a couple times (even releasing a demo after the real thing, for some reason) only changing the graphics and some gameplay things like this NPC won't appear anymore etc.

Vast Fame also reused their engines, but not as blatantly; like in both of their game boy Zook Heroes games and also SKXS and Shui Hu Shen Shou.

Those are the only ones I remember.

Here's my Top 3:

Sega Nomad - An excuse for Sega making their own portable game console, in case anyone wanted to play their Mega Drive games on the go. It was a fail because it was bulky as hell and it ate batteries like a physical Pacman, to the point 6 AAs are devoured around TWO HOURS. Sega even went through the trouble of making their own rechargeable battery so you'd not have to worry with it but it was hard to find. It also failed to compete with the competitors, as the first Playstation was already at the time.

Ouya - Another portable crash. Running on Android platform. Basically if you want to play Angry Birds on the big screen, you can. Oh, and the Playstation got that one too, since mobile gaming and actual gaming aren't the same. That's all, folks.

Zeebo - This piece of shit is a brazilian overglorified mobile phone. Yeah, but not one of those fast and addictive iPhone or Androids we have nowadays, I'm saying that it's tech was similar to one of these button Nokias you used to own back in the day. It was distribuited in Brazil and Mexico by Tectoy, as something targeted for the poorer kids. It failed to compete with the Playstation 2 at the time, due to its lackluster technology and also because while on one hand the Playstation itself was expensive we (I'm Brazilian, BTW) used to get them really cheap contrabanded from Paraguay and also we could download game ISOs on the internet to then burn them onto our DVDs so in the end Tectoy ended up remarketing it as an "educational" toy to in the end that thing fortunately closed it's door to never be heard of again. THE END.

Conclusion: Sony wins, FATALITY. Flawless victory. :P

Game Boy dumps / (Non)GoodGBC set?
« on: May 10, 2020, 07:55:01 PM »
Many of the NES roms I have I got'em at the GoodNES/NonGoodNES sets. Is there something similar for Game Boys? Specifically for Mono/Color, not looking for any GBA roms

except maybe that Nekketsu rom, heh

Other Pirates / PS1/2 pirates

Why there aren't many Playstation bootlegs out there?

Mainly the PS1 and PS2, mainly because of their popularity here many games good fake pirated versions, but so far no ones made from 0. The only things I know of that are "new" here are those PT-BR redubs which simply take the dialog from something (like a Saint Seiya anime) and putting it onto something related (such as the Saint Seiya game). Or perhaps project Bomba Patch, which was a patch which added real life players and clubs from Brazil circa 200X. Bomba Patch still exists and well, those guys behind these more recent versions aren't the same guys who made it back then.

On a couple threads here (I only recall this one I'm posting) the beginning of the page is fine but as you scroll down, the page starts scrolling to the right. Kinda hard to explain, but this:;topicseen

Sorry if I posted in the wrong section. I don't think it'd make sense in the GB dumps one since this one was never put in cartridges and is a VERY old homebrew rom from 2010's!

Does anyone have the Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari GBA rom?

"But wait, doesn't that already exist, under the name of River City Ransom EX?"

Yeah yeah, but this one's different.

The description says it was taken from RazorGuardian's website, which is indeed archived, yet the link to the game is not.

In your account setting, you can set ICQ, AIM, MSN and Yahoo.

ICQ has been sold to russians.

AIM is dead.

Yahoo is no longer supported.

And MSN... 2014 Anyone?

Why not replace these 4 with more updated systems, such as... Discord? Whatsapp? Instagram? Or Twitter? I don't have social media myself, but that would certainly help us be in touch more easily than we would using non-existant systems.

Okay, so I noticed that a couple of boards have old codes for emojis that no longer exist.

Such as (:ninja:)

Why were the old emojis removed?

It looks horrible. Was this written by 6-year olds? Personally i don't have the time to do it, because, well, i dunno if anyone noticed it, but due to 'reasons' my online activity has decreased dramatically.

Famicom/NES / What is a Polystation?
« on: December 29, 2019, 11:56:22 PM »
I've been googling around and well, something i stumpled across are multiple Polystation-labeled consoles that are actually DIFFERENT. Sometimes people mistake a PSOne famiclone for a Polystation (such as a Game Station or a One Station) but this is puzzling me. On the first image (polystation_with_logo.png) you can see the box of one of these. Notice the letter P encased in a rainbow circlet. The actual thing below the box doesn't have a rainbow circlet! It's actually blue. Probably made blue to save money costs, but that is no excuse to make the box rainbow and the console blue. Next image (polystation_without_logo.png) has another Polystation, but this one's logo has blue text on red. Very different from the "P" on the other one. Next. (polystation_yellow.png) Same thing except this one lacks some detail on the fake disk reader and the logo is now yellow. Hmm. The last but not least (PSone.png) is a box that has Playstation's logo instead of the Polystation's one. The controllers have no Polystation logo on them and the box also mimics the Nintendo 64's box design. Also notice that the box labels the thing as a PolyStation (with capital S), however the console says PSone.

Game Boy dumps / GB Boy Colour boot rom

It's similar to the Game Boy Color one, except this one says GB Boy on it instead of Game Boy. Does anyone have it?
