Hacker Center / Nice Code credit screens
« on: August 31, 2017, 09:58:10 PM »
Big update on this, not only have I found way more games with these credit screens, but I've also found the button combinations required to access them!

In most games, press Up, Down, Up, Left, Right, Left, B on the title screen. In Final Blood, Fling Ball, Fruit Gift, Greedy, Ice Ocean, Jump-Jump, Seaport Guarl and Spider Man, press Up, Down, Left, Right, hold A + B (pressing A before B) and press Right. Aether Cruiser uses it's own unique button combination, Down, Up, Left, Right.

My list on my TCRF userspace has been updated to include more games with these credit screens and button codes for all of them.

Game Boy / "Legend" by Waixing
« on: July 23, 2016, 07:58:08 PM »
So I was sorting through my GBC bootleg collection (correcting filenames, etc.) and noticed a game called "Legend (CN).gbc". I can't seem to find anything about it no matter how hard I look. It's an RPG made by Waixing and the title screen appears to read 传奇 (Chuan Qi / Legend). I think it might be 传奇.星云战记 (Chuan Qi. Xing Yun Zhan Ji) from this list on Waixing's old site, but I'm not fully certain. Anyone able to verify this?

Maybe the "NCG" in the Seaport Guarl credits stands for "Nice Code Games".
It most likely stands for "Nature Color Game", a Nice Code alias used on most of the other credit screens.

Hacker Center / Nice Code credit screens

I've been a bit busy lately trying to look for interesting unused stuff in NES bootlegs and I've just discovered unused credit screens in nearly 30 Nice Code games! With the exceptions of Seaport Guarl and Pizza Boy (which don't list any names at all), they all have the letters PJ at the top with a list of credits below, with Robin Song credited as the producer and Wofire as the director. I'm assuming that PJ stands for PowerJoy, however these credit screens seem to have been removed on all the PowerJoy consoles I've checked.

I've documented them all in my userspace on TCRF (link).

Well, Digimon 2, 4, 5 (use the [a1] dump for 5. The normal one breaks half way through..) and Jade are dumped. The engine for these is better than the other stuff that's dumped, though.
Where can I get these? I can't seem to find them with Google.

Game Boy / Which Makon Soft/Yong Yong games are dumped?
« on: July 30, 2013, 03:12:17 PM »
Which Makon Soft/Yong Yong games have ROMs dumped? I've always been interested in playing their games, just to see how bad they are. I know that Pokémon Adventure, Rockman 8, Sonic 3D Blast 5, Sonic Adventure 7, Sonic Adventure 8 and Super Mario Special 3 are dumped, but are there any others?

Also, I remember finding patched versions of Rockman 8, Sonic 3D Blast 5 and Super Mario Special 3 that worked in VBA, but I unfortunately don't have them anymore. I've tried looking for them with Google but I couldn't find them. If someone knows where I could find them, that would be great.

Other Pirates / Popstation manufacturers
« on: July 28, 2013, 03:07:53 PM »
I was watching some of Dr. Ashen's Popstation reviews and noticed that several of them had ZC in their IDs. Googling "ZC-2032" (the ID of the Game & Radio) brpught me to this Tradeee page, which mentions Dongguan Caltime Electronics Co., Ltd. Googling Caltime's name brought me to their official site which does sell some LCD games, but disappointingly no Popstations. I went back to their tradeee page, clicked on the product list, browsed around, and I found info on lots of Popstations they made, confirming them as one of many Popstation manufacturers.

EDIT: I think I found the manufacturers of Retieval Mankind's Batman and PSP Onling. Googling their respecive IDs (XY-930 and AX-688) led me to ToysBaba and EC21 listings for each game. RMB is made by Jiangyun Toys and PSP Onling is made by HK Aixin Electronics Co., Ltd.

Other Pirates / Wellminds, Nanjing, Jiuyang (& more?)

Browsing around DealExtreme led me to the ZH-398, which appears to be a clone of BBL's handhelds with the letters ZH on the main menu and in the console's name; anyone know who ZH could be?

This topic reminded me to publish my list of games that appear on Bao Bao Long's 16-bit handhelds. Here it is. Some names might not be correct as they were ripped from descriptions of eBay and Alibaba listings.

Other Pirates / Baobaolong Handhelds
« on: August 08, 2012, 05:20:29 PM »
In another topic, I found some bootleg handhelds with unique hardware made by a company called BaoBaoLong. By exploring their site, I found four consoles using this hardware: a 12-in-1, a 14-in-1, a 20-in-1 and a 32-in-1. From what I can gather from the information on their site, the handhelds are 16-bit.

Incidentally Focalprice has tons of these if you have a look through their Game Consoles section.
Based on what I could find about these consoles, they seem to be made by Baobaolong and Ending Man. I couldn't find Ending Man's site, but from what I can gather they make Famiclones. Baobaolong's site sells their handhelds, and other consoles.

Mega Drive/Genesis / E-time Game Play ROMs
« on: June 10, 2012, 07:32:17 PM »
I just looked through all of the ROMs, and the only ones that I suspect are undumped and unlicensed are: RETURN_OF_KNIGHTS.bin, PING_PONG.bin, OMEGA_RACE.bin, no_name.bin, MD8325.bin, MD8326.bin, MAHJONG_TOWER_(_FIX_FOR_ALL_MD_).bin, and LEVEL_3_MAH_JONG.bin. Could someone verify if these are all undumped?

Mega Drive/Genesis / E-time Game Play ROMs

I was browsing DealExtreme when I found this listing for an unlicensed Sega Genesis clone that actually has a link to all of its roms in its item description!

Download Link

Most of the ROMs are licensed but there's some stuff in here that I think might be unlicensed. Could someone please check the ROMs for me?
