Famicom/NES / Monster Party bootleg
« on: March 25, 2021, 04:43:44 PM »
For the sake of community I'd like to post-n-preserve this obscure pirate cartridge  8)

Gameplaywise, it is exactly the same as the original NES version. They didn't even care to cut out copyrights from titlescreen...

Hey, I wanted to share this little find, even if it's just for the sake of community, but maybe someone will find it interesting.

I found it in really near mint condition, cartridge shows absolutely no visible wear:

Inside there is not much to inspect (except maybe of some logic and SRAM), however the PCB has a date stamp - 810617-C (1992 IIRC?):

As for the game itself, only a starting splash screen has been removed, when you power up your game, you go straight to the title screen. According to TCRF this would be the multicart version from "Pegasus Golden Five" and apparently it really is the same game. Nothing fancy here. Nevertheless it's cool to se a standalone Famicom pirate of this particular version 8)

Couple of days ago I found it at my local "old school" shop, but since I didn't know it's actual value I didn't take it - I'm posting it attached - does anyone of you can estimate how much could it be worth? .....unfortunately there is only a photo, I don't even know what the games are on it :'(

Hey. Just out of curiosity. Does anyone knows ANYTHING about this particular console more then what we can see on pics?

Apparently, there was 2 versions: one with built in 82 and other with 168 games.

The only website, that is partially dead by now, gives only brief info about it and only details is that it has UMC based components, so it's old school, but who made it, where and when is most interesting because here in Poland we had a very similar console "Pegasus" which had those exact Contra 168 compilation games but as a stand alone cartridge included  8)

Grab it >> http://mwk1.vot.pl/contrabanda/stuff/Defier.nes

However I wasn't able to fully run it either on my emulators (all I'm getting is a solid orange screen with chunky music playing) nor consoles via E8PRO (mapper not supported)...

Just a loose question out of curiosity - how much do you think this whole set could be worth?

Everything is strictly old-school Taiwanese made, no modern repro/aliexpres bulls*t

Mega Drive/Genesis / Castlevania
« on: March 14, 2020, 05:48:33 PM »
Finally! I got my hand on SMD Castlevania with this hilarious label 8)

I also include PCB scans (in upper right corner we can read "P/N: S0035-A NIBBLE VERSION"):

What's interesting is that upon turning this game on first credits says it's Bloodlines, while all the rest of the game is The New Generation:

I wonder what's with that garbled text at the Game Over screen?

I wasn't sure where to put it while also didn't want to create a new topic just for that, so apologies in advance.

A while ago I was recreating some pirate labels for my friend and just during the whole operation I made a pretty nice looking new Sachen logotype, based 100% off the old one of course, for your all convenience and for the sake of our history 8)

Here it is for free download >> http://www.mwk1.vot.pl/contrabanda/stuff/sachen.rar
(archive includes raster transparent bitmap, vector based pdf and the original CorelDraw file)

Well I'd buy one straight away but I have a 150-in-1 which I think is made by the same people. The problem there is that it doesn't work on a real Famicom and the Famiclones I have aren't very good.[/quote]Here is the solution >> http://s4.zetaboards.com/PGC_Forums/single/?p=8152818&t=9922436 :thumb:
