Sometimes, you find some undesirable things (like lost dogs, rats scuttling across alleys, chewy cooked waterbugs as a delicacy, and drinking hot water because maybe the food ain't so well ingested on its own?). There are broken toilets in some temporary residences, but as far as I know, they know how to fix it. Oh yeah, the climate can get really cold and really hot.
Funny you mention the water beetles, that's one thing I've always wanted to try.  Water beetles and cock roaches are two of my biggest fears...  maybe they wont be so scary if I eat them.
That makes sense, right?

Pirate Talk / Going to Hong Kong for the first time...

So I'm taking a trip to Hong Kong in a couple months, and I've never left the US; I have no clue what to expect.

Of course I'm going to be shopping for bootleg goodies [games, toys, etc] along with clothing and stationary [ my other addictions hobbies]- - is there anything I should know?  Are bootlegs common in HK or will I have more luck in mainland China? I'm also going to the mainland, but I haven't decided on where yet; Is there anywhere specific I should go?

Any advice is helpful whether or not it's related to bootleg collecting, and I'd love to hear about your own Hong Kong / Chinese adventures! C:

The Big Old Arcade / Your Favorite Game Soundtracks
« on: November 12, 2014, 04:38:47 AM »
i adore video game music, i could probably post 2 pages of my favorite soundtracks, but here's just some of my top personal picks-

Spyro the Dragon - the original, not the evil thing that replaced him recently
Crazy Sue Goes On- so good ~<3
Valis III (PC Engine Version) - doesn't seem to be on youtube so i posted the best song imo, the genesis version has the same music but watered down
Auf Wiedersehen Monty
Last Ninja 2
Money Idol Exchanger- this game is very addictive puzzler, if you haven't heard of it, play the gameboy version!
Tempo- overlooked gem, probably because it was on the 32x
Knuckles' Chaotix- see above lol
Zool 2 - couldn't find a playlist...
Shi Kong Xing Shou - thank you whoever ripped this, pirated game music makes me melt~

like i said, i could go on forever...

Who knew BugTris, a weird Tetris clone, had an ending? I sure didn't.

Luckily, I recorded it and put it on YouTube for the first time for your viewing pleasure, with bonus annotations.
you are the best player :O!!!  the music in bugtris is kinda creepy.

Anyway,  I've completed Pokemon Saphire / 2003 Ruby Carbuncle twice now, but I kind of messed up and evolved my Magic Babies too early, so I'm going to try at it again.  I've been emulating it, unfortunately I do not own it.  I think it's definitely on the top of my wishlist.  Does anyone else find this game as fun as I do? :x
