Discussion Center / Game Credit Translation Requests (Gamtec)
« on: October 25, 2015, 09:48:29 AM »
Hello there.
I had completed some Gamtec games in which the credits are in Chinese. This usually isn't a problem for me since I can go to a website and choose separate radicals and get the character. However, in most of these Gamtec games, the Chinese character font is... how do I put this... too stylish. I was wondering, if I sent .png images to anyone here if they could help translate them. As of now, I only have two games: Magic Girl, and Super Tank Wars.
I did make cheat codes if you want to (easily) beat these games yourself and see the credits. Magic Girl has an invincibility code (FF016D:0005), and Super Tank War has a code where you can (almost instantly) go to the ending credits. Just put in FF00EF:0000, and it will tell the game you eliminated all enemies and send you to the next level. There are 50 levels, but if you put the turbo mode on, you can literally get to the end credits within seconds. I played through some of the other Gamtec games. I could post the translated credits if anyone wants, but I will make a separate forum post for that, as I have TONS of unpublished pirate game credits. Also, there are 'some' shared staff between the games I translated and these, but most of the people in both of these games are ones I don't know of/haven't seen their real names credited in other games.
Thanks for your time!

1993-1999 / Di Dao Zhan Help
« on: January 17, 2014, 11:50:08 PM »
Okay after a million attempts I found out what to do.
1.) Kill all of the guards
2.) When there are no more guards left go to the bottom part of the level map and talk to the blue guy
3.) Go to the second level of the tunnel and go through the hole by using the shovel

1993-1999 / Di Dao Zhan Help
« on: January 17, 2014, 02:07:40 PM »
Hello.
I am trying to play through Di Dao Zhan on the NES on level 4 but I can't figure out where I am supposed to go or what to do. I have exhausted every possibility I can think of and it's driving me crazy. I was hoping someone here could help me out? I've tried asking that Starlink guy on YouTube but it seems he doesn't reply to comments. Thanks!

Famicom/NES / Jack YEH stuff
« on: May 26, 2013, 06:26:39 AM »
In the Chinese version of Challenge of the Dragon, the credits list the developers' Chinese names next to their English names. Maico Yeh is Yeh Min Hwa (葉敏華), who was also credited in Tiles of Fate (I believe under the Special Thanks section).
Jack Yeh's real name is Yeh Longzhong (葉隆中). He is on Facebook, but he hasn't replied to my message. It took a long time for Kossel to reply to me, so I'm willing to wait for Jack.

Please send me a link to where I can find the credits screen(s) for the Doraemon game and I'll try and translate them. :)
EDIT: I already beat the game and got the staff credits. I got the Ren Yongming for the music, which I understand did lots of music for Waixing.
EDIT (again): Here's the credits for the Doraemon (Somari Hack) game:
总监 郑格宁

策划 余榕青
美工 余榕青

劉上青 (Liu Shang Qing)
唐天文 (Tang Tian Wen)
GAME PLANer
劉上青 (Liu Shang Qing)

I could be wrong on the last character for the composer (傑) but that was the closest one I could find. I would appreciate it if someone could verify this for me.

2000-present / Shenzhen Nanjing's sound driver: origins?
« on: January 25, 2013, 02:55:23 AM »
Actually, they didn't use Beam's sound driver. Beam Software's instruments used the hardware decay and square waves for instruments and this one doesn't. Most of the later Beam Software games were composed by Marshall Parker of Shadowrun (SNES) fame. Another staff member at Beam told me all who programmed the sound driver.
I have the source code for Beam's NES sound driver, but I have been told strictly not to give it to anyone until it's licensed, and I don't know when that will be.
If anything though, this actually sounds like TOSE's sound driver. I'm not sure who programmed the sound driver there, but I do know a couple composers who did music for them back in the day. If anyone's still interested, I could see if the games do in fact use TOSE's sound driver.

Famicom/NES / Thunderbolt 2 Credits
« on: January 24, 2013, 01:53:47 PM »
Hello.
My sincere apologies if I posted this in the wrong place, but I couldn't figure out where else to put it. Last night, I translated the credits for Thunderbolt 2 for the NES. This is the first Chinese translation I've ever done, so there may be some mistakes. Usually I translate Japanese staff rolls for NES games. Again, my apologies if I didn't put this in the right place. Also, I searched the site to make sure nobody else uploaded the credits and I couldn't find anything.
