Hello! While I was ripping the sprites and levels from Shanghai Paradise's Monkey King a while back, I had noticed that there were some Chinese characters occasionally sprinkled through the level designs and cutscenes that aren't part of the story text. Curious as to their meaning, I attempted to use Google's Lens feature to try and extract the characters, but it can't read them. Would anyone knowledgeable in the language happen to know what they say?

This is pretty cool actually! Nice to have a centralized source for these things instead of having to dig through Chinese eBay equivalents.
I do have a question, though: I noticed that when it was first discovered, you had posted some photos of the cartridge for Blood of Jurassic by Shanghai Paradise. Unfortunately, due to Photobucket's shutdown as well as general link rot, the links no longer work. Would you happen to still have them? I can understand if you don't, that was over a decade ago, after all.

I found dragon2snow's YouTube channel, and they still seem to be active, posting a video just yesterday. I have asked them if they can provide a picture of the BOJ cart. Now, it's just a matter of waiting for a response.

Alright then. Guess I'll have to keep looking. I've also been thinking about going to a retro game store in the Shanghai area in hopes of possibly discovering a cartridge. Is that plausible?

Hi! I've been exploring Joy Van's NES catalog recently, and I of course came across Master Chu. I was curious about the Chinese variant, so I found a copy and decided to play it through. However, unlike the US version, it works fine for the first level, only to turn into a glitched mess afterwards. I'm fairly certain it's using the tile / sprite set from Level 1, so it must not be switching the banks. Does anyone know why this happens?

Interesting find! Also, sorry about the hack signature, I felt I needed to put that there as I think there should be some sort of credit so it's not a complete mystery regarding where the hack originated, as I can see how constantly having to attach a README file could get really annoying.

Hey there! I've recently started to explore Hummer Team's catalog of games, and I learned that Space Shuttle Exploration had a broken Rinco copyright screen hidden in the code, with it being similar to the one seen in that "The Dragon" Bruce Lee game. While the palettes, animations, and sound all work properly, the graphics bank for it seem to have been written over with leftover graphics from Finger DDR. So, I decided to take it upon myself to restore it to its original form. To see it, use the Cheats on FCEUX to edit the value at 0003 to 06 (TCRF seems to have been 1 number off in the former address). If you disable it, it'll fade into the title screen after everything plays out, so it's actually fully functional. Have fun!
And in case you're wondering, those X markers are tiles I couldn't figure out the purpose of. There is Arabic text in the ROM, so maybe it's for that, but I don't know the language.

It might've been interesting if they tried to put something like Commander Keen or the Duke Nukem platformers on the system, considering Color Dreams made a port of Captain Cosmic.
