Title: Pokemon Leaf Green by Jncota
Post by: Beetle Hair on April 16, 2013, 09:53:35 AM
Not sure if anybody posted any info on this, but Jncota ported over Pokemon Leaf Green to the Famicom using the same engine as their other Pokemon games. I have to ask a question, are Jncota and SNT the same company? If so, this is probably the most pointless pirate ever made. It's not bad at all, but it is very similar to SNT's Pokemon Yellow port. Like that game, it has music from Ruby or Sapphire, and a very similar graphic style. The maps are more of a direct port than the SNT Pokemon Yellow port, but there are glitches. Like, you can actually walk through certain trees. Again, it's not bad, but it was actually released over 3 different cartridges making it even more pointless, and the third cart is almost impossible to find. It has the same cartridge art as the second one.

I may post footage of this port on my YT channel, and I even have an old video review of this game if anyone is interested. It uses the computer voice though.

Having seen some of Jncota's other games, I wouldn't be surprised if they were just a pseudonym for SNT.

I bet. It's pretty suspicious how many games Jncota ported SNT also did. The packaging on their games is also very similar...

Yeah, I saw that! Oddly, the later games Jncota made that are published by KT look more like Waixing games. The cartridges, the packaging, even the KT logo looks a little bit like the Waixing logo. The cartridges by KT use decent plastic though, and that is definitely a first for that company.

Beetle Hair, check your PM. ;)
And BTW, I was the one who made the article for Jncota. Also there's an RPG by them that was dumped by tszone_fc a long time ago, but some of you already knew that.

Thanks for the info and the PM. I think I've seen a few videos on that RPG. You did a great job on the article. I'll check out CaH4e3.

A question for Beetle Hair:
I'm beating the second cart of Pokemon Sapphire, and I reached the part where I'm supposed to go to Route 124, but dunno what to do there.

The third one doesn't really have an ending either. After you beat the Elite Four in the third cart, some people talk to you, you get a ton of money and the player just walks back outside and you keep playing.
