Title: GBA Multicart Dumps (290-in-1 and 68-in1)
Post by: davidstech on May 05, 2012, 02:33:15 PM: I was bored so decided to build a link cable for my GBA (see this article (http://hackaday.com/2010/03/18/arduino-based-multiboot-cable-for-game-boy-advance/)), and write a simple dumping program.

These are the two multi-carts that I were able to dump - mainly the usual PocketNES/VisualNES stuff, but it might be interesting for someone.
I also have a 128-in-1, but the ROM appears unplayable - but it may be because that cartridge has connection issues.

I always wondered if some of these GBA multicarts might have something interesting on them, and it looks like the 290 in 1 does - "Hua Rong Road" AFAIK isn't dumped separately (or is it?) ... I wonder where they got it from?

I also find it kinda interesting that that one uses "classic" multicart names for some of the games, like Saiyuki World as "New Son Son" and Obake no Q Tarou as "King of Ghost".

Post by: davidstech on May 06, 2012, 04:07:39 AM: If you are interested, I have split up the 290-in-1 into individual NES roms. However, the majority of them don't work - I suspect either they did not extract properly, or the header is somehow corrupt.

Post by: Awesome Panda on May 06, 2012, 05:14:03 AM: I might be wrong, but I think whatever tool they used to make the multicart alters the ROMs a fair bit. I looked at a few of them with a hex editor and the data looks a lot different. :\

Edit: Looking the files there, the corrupt ones seem to be the wrong size. I think all of the games on there (apart from the GBA ones) are supposed to be 24k, 32k, 40k, 48k, 64k, 128k or 256k. ;)

I think hua rong dao road is already on cpplay.
