Post by: Arcade-Elite on September 02, 2020, 01:45:59 PM
So has anyone ever hacked this mapper before mapper 36? To an easyer mapper? Mapper swap? I ask because i am trying to get strike wolf and policeman made. And 2 of my good friend's that are hackers dont even know this mapper.. I cant program or hack 😢

Mapper 036 is well documented on nesdev (https://wiki.nesdev.com/w/index.php/INES_Mapper_036). If your friends know about hardware/electronics design they can make a custom discrete (or CPLD) solution to work around the custom ASIC.

Thanks i sent an email to him to day, he lives in japan and English is not his native language so its hard to explain everything. But from what i have read mapper 36 txc could be customized to mapper 66 to play Strike Wolf and Police man? I have been produceing alot of rare NES games for my own collection of these weird bootlegs that many ppl dont care about and it is getting harder to do with these crazy hard mappers lol.

Awsome Mr. NewRisingSun, you guy's are the masters at these hard mappers. Only last rare mapper i know of that no one know's the info on nor has hacked to an easyer mapper is NES/Famicom Star Keeper. To this day no one has done speed run's of the game on real hardware because the mapper hasn't been document. It's a shame. Thanks again.

Since you cant message Mr. NewRising Sun, just want to thank you again for finding that mapper 66 of policeman and strike wolf. I got them made and they work on the AVS NES. I am trying now to get Silver Eagle (Sachen) made but again the mapper is to hard to find some one that can make it. Do you know if there is a easyer mapper patch for Silver Eagle. Or if there is a different version that just use's a common mapper that will play on the AVS NES? It's just damn hard to play these bootleg mappers on real hardware. Thanks again for your time and happy holidays.
