Title: How did you find PGC?
Post by: Brn89 on December 16, 2017, 05:47:56 PM
It might be too late to ask this as the forum itself has become quiet but, I'm just wondering of how everyone found this wonderful place. For me, as having been a member here for six years (and I can't believe it's that long), it might've been through a promotion that Pepe made about this place within RXComm. I can't quite remember.

I visited this place when I was in RX Community. I also updated Shi Kong Xing Shou unofficial walkthrough there, too.

I'm rewriting SKXS unofficial walkthrough - Fixing translations and completing the dex.

EDIT : Wait… It's you, B****[Blinded due to some problems]! I didn't noticed that you replaced your nickname and RX is back!  :yay:

I think I found out about this place via the RX Community.  I mostly lurked until I finally decided to register to this site.

Been around since the RX community days, and now with nothing really better to do, I figure I should probably post on here and the discord more.

In all honesty, I heard about this place from a discord server, which recommended me to go to this place's discord server, which I then decided to join the site, and so on and so forth.

For the longest time, I actually figured "I wonder if I'm the only person out there that actually enjoys playing these bootleg games, despite how terrible the majority of them are" and well... coming across this, makes me realize that I'm not the only one, and that there's quite a beautiful community sounding this interest in the bootlegged.

Found you guys via JP Ronny/Awesome Panda back in early 2011 via his now defunct PirateGamingHeavy channel which had a link to this place back in the PGC days.

Pepe invited me to here via PM on YT during the first days of this forum, almost 11 years ago. Joined three months after I got the message though.

I don't know how (specifically) I found PGC, but I did, and created an account back in 2013. I can tell you how I found BGC today, though. I was looking to see if I was the first person to dump the boot ROM of the Kong Feng GB Boy Colour, which is a Gameboy clone. I found a post requesting the boot ROM here. When I went to register an account I found out my name was already registered.

Curiously though, the forums seems to think I had posted once before, although I can't see this post. Either this is some glitch, or I have an old post that's been moved to a hidden forum section. Intriguing! :)

I've seen the wiki within the 2010's when Vinesauce Joel was popular (not my first experience with bootlegs but definitely peaked around this time for me) and me doing research on it but I didn't interact with the community until somebody linked me the BGC server on the Telefang server, which I joined and now it's the server I am always on. I then figured, I may as well be on the forum and wiki if im there so yeah.....
