Post by: z2442 on March 27, 2016, 10:15:18 PM

Hello,

I found this odd handheld sitting in a pile of junk a few months back. I have been searching to find out more information and or a firmware for the device. Here is all the information and pictures I have currently acquired. BTW it seems to have been made under several companies with different product names. The above is the one I currently have.

Looks like it's also known as the MP Pocket from Jungletac: http://jungletac.com/web/products_all.aspx?ID=310 (http://jungletac.com/web/products_all.aspx?ID=310)
Jungletac is almost certainly the original manufacturer, Ultimate Products was more of a rebranding/exporting operation (they were also responsible for the Zone line of consoles, for example)

here's a video review, which also shows some of the games (they look like standard Jungletac fare, albeit probably ported to different hardware): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqM5hO6fE-w (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqM5hO6fE-w)

I can't find any firmware for it - I doubt Jungletac ever released any updates, honestly. The only software I could find is this video converter: http://old.defender.ru/support/drivers/13077/ (http://old.defender.ru/support/drivers/13077/) .. which doesn't seem specific to this device but is just a version of the freeware tool Format Factory. (and also two browsers and my antivirus flagged that download as containing malware, so I wouldn't recommend it in any case)

Thanks for the extra info! I bricked mine in the process of messing with different firmwares to see if another 3052c firmware would boot. So I have been trying to find a clean dump to flash back to my device. A program called FRM PRO is able to read and detect the nand still. The revolution has a recovery/flashing mode "Booting with M button held". I found that same video software seems to be just bad new bears lol. Im in a odd spot now as to what todo from here, seems like a lot of potential in such a cheap package.

Btw If anyone else out there has one laying around and would not mind dumping the firmware image :)

Other tidbits:
Looks like a universal firmware for the devices with the same cpu exist but there is not video driver or Just that I cant find the model of LCD.

Maybe if you emailed Jungletac they might be able to provide a copy of the firmware? i'm not sure how responsive they are to inquiries like that, but it could be worth a try.

I will give it a shot and try to contact them. Ill let you know how it plays out!

EDIT: I emailed them, I hope they respond!

EDIT2: Looks like all support emails to the company shoot back as dead... :(

Thanks again for the help!
