Title: Super Boy Converted into NES!
Post by: TALUIGI on December 03, 2014, 07:35:20 PM
I decided, to port the zemina's super boy on the nes.
Because it's not soo good on the limitations of the msx, and sms.
So with better limitations i put everything of the msx version.
Titlescreen, pallette, graphics. now i want change the music
to make it more like the msx version. also the original game
don't have warp zone so i made my own warp zone to make it looks like
a typo that zemina would make like:
''ITS SECRET PLACE!''

Some characters that's not in superboy i coverted is palettes to make looks like the limitations of the MSX.
Images bellow. and hope you ''like'' it.

And the game is in the attachments because my pc is being a jealous about uploading stuff.

Also happy holidays. and everybody have a good new year!

GOD SPEEDS YOU!

I'm doing the same thing with Other Zemina games on the NES.

And i have a ''good idea'' to hack urusei yatsura and hack it and call Elevator Action 2.
And Elevator Action in Urusei Yatsura. It's because the gameplay is very identical to the 2 games.

It's a new hobby that i have. Transform the clone into the game. and the game into a clone. GET IT? ;D

Not a bad effort. However I'd suggest fixing the dithering in these blocks so they look like this:

Thank you.
A few other notes:

*In the original, breaking blocks shows brick debris ala SMB1.
*You could do something with the Brown/Peach color palette used by Goombas/Beetles.
*The sideways pipes are still the same as original SMB1.
*The underground palette could be made a bit more blue so it's more accurate to the original.

But if i changed the blocks of the underground the overworld graphics gonna be of the wrong color.

Actually I was referring to their color, not their appearance. Which wouldn't really hurt anything. Besides you could change the palette of the underground enemies so they match the color.

I know this is pretty old. But I really wanted to thank you TALUIGI, for sharing your work here. I really like what you did with this idea, and think that was classy to put together an alternate version to please somebody with a suggestion. Anyways, I'm into oddities big time. Which we all are here lol.
