Title: BootlegGames Wiki
Post by: KingPepe on July 31, 2010, 07:52:51 PM
The link to the wiki is here:
http://bootleggames.wikia.com/wiki/BootlegGames_Wiki (http://bootleggames.wikia.com/wiki/BootlegGames_Wiki)

We're trying to get as much info about pirates and such on this wiki as possible.

Should we update the Developer's box, seeing as the one for games looks different now?

In that case, I'll update the developer pages then.

I just added a developer page for Vast Fame (http://bootleggames.wikia.com/wiki/Vast_Fame) based on all the info I know about them so far. Surprised it's been this long until they were added, honestly.

I was going to add them but TBH I'm not very familiar with their games, other than Zook Hero 2.

I've started adding galleries to pages, trying to add all cart pics and variations that are out there. Adds more life to the pages I think  ^_^

If anybody else has pics to share you should go ahead and add them. I'm actually surprised pretty much no pages have a single pic of their actual cart.

Edit: I added a Super Mario World 64 page, first time writing so it's a bit..not good? Plus it's my fisr time messing with wiki really at all, so the formatting's a bit screwy possibly. If anybody wants to touch it up, feel free. Oh, and I can't figure out how to put it under the games section, or Genesis area etc. Someone lemme know how that's done for the future =p

You did a pretty good job Barver for your first article. Also to add categories, in the bottom left there's an "Add Category" with a plus, just put in the categories it would belong into. (Like the console, publisher, developer, type of game)

Added a Barver Battle Saga article. I really am lost on what to comment on for the overview, anyone that can think of something else to add?

I can't help at all I do not know that game but you could talk a bit more about the game itself. Do not turn in a review but explain a bit would be better. But the article is already pretty good.

Added some Pokemon pirates for GB. Perhaps I can add one for their apparent developer, Good Life, but there's honestly not much to say about them since they're still a mystery. Added a Tiny Toon Adventures 3 page also, since that's the game I definitely want to find the most. Hopefully this will give it exposure and bring someone here :x

And I posted a topic about this place at the Assembler message boards. Hopefully that brings an influx of new members!

Edit: I added a Sonic 2 Beta page, seeing as I had all these pics of pirate carts and it's personally one of the rare items I'm after. Anyone think there should be a separate section of the wiki for that prototypes that got pirated? Other examples that come to mind at the moment are Fido Dido for Genesis and Time Diver for Famicom.

Also, on the StH2 beta page, should I add information on the individual zones or link the article to the Sonic Retro page?

Just the pirating of it is what should be noted on this site.

Did a pretty minor update in Harry's Legend.

I added a page for a Lord of the Rings game for GBA. I'm wondering if there should be a separate category for GBA, since Game Boy implies monochrome or color, not Advance. I can't figure out how to add that as a new category though so I assume only admins can.

On the LotR page, you add a category called  "Game Boy Advance games" and then in that page you add a category called "Games by console."

I'd love to see even poor camera shots of this thing, if so, because it is such a rarity that the Internet as a whole has barely heard of it.

Yeah, I got it. I'll try to take shots, I had to buy a GBA SP just for it since I didn't own one. Hopefully the backlight can provide clearer shots.

I'll try taking some in a bit and make a topic.

I added a Favicon to the Wiki but it looks like utter crap thanks to Wikia only accepting ICOs. ;>>

Found a rare pic and added it to the Tiny Toon 3 page.

Not much but for me personally it's a great find.

I wasn't sure where to put it while also didn't want to create a new topic just for that, so apologies in advance.

A while ago I was recreating some pirate labels for my friend and just during the whole operation I made a pretty nice looking new Sachen logotype, based 100% off the old one of course, for your all convenience and for the sake of our history 8)

Beautiful (https://bootleggames.fandom.com/wiki/Sachen), thank you! I converted the PDF to SVG and replaced the background color so it could easily be used on anything, anywhere.

Hello. Im not shure where i should post my request. I recently added some information about russion unofficial company Kudos. All this information was gathered by russian community. Please check my spelling.

Also i didn't wrote much about "anti piracy war". In short, russian government gave ultimatum to all bootlegers and unofficial translator teams. "While we glad, that there is a lot translator who adopt films and video games to russian language, kets admit one fact, that what you are doing is unlawful. Stop it. Become a kegal company and we will be glad to help you become a legal companies. If you don'tr do it and if you are going to support piracy, then we will find you and punish you". Some companies decided to become legal, for example Akella, GSC Game World, but some choose to be a bootleg company

You can find more information about Kudos at rgdb.info
